Rams RCB Josh Gordy was forced from Monday night’s game against the Seahawks with a hip injury, and is questionable to return.
Par for the course for a team that’s sent 10 cornerbacks to injured reserve this season. Gordy has been replaced by Roderick Hood, which has forced Chris Smith into the game at nickel back. Smith was signed off the practice squad just five days ago. Reserve S Craig Dahl is also out with an ankle injury.
  • Rams LT Mark LeVoir (groin), CB Josh Gordy (oblique), S Craig Dahl (ankle), and DE James Hall (pectoral) are all considered “day to day” after suffering injuries in Week 14.
The Rams are already down to third- and fourth-stringers on the offensive line and at cornerback, so it’s just more of the same for LeVoir and Gordy.
  • CHI Coaching Staff
Rams CB Al Harris has been diagnosed with a torn right ACL, and is done for the season.
Harris was lucky to come back after tearing his left ACL in 2009, and it’s likely his latest tear will end what’s been a long and productive 14-year career. His injury again leaves the Rams in a lurch at cornerback, a position where they’ve now lost four of their top five players this season. Josh Gordy should get the first crack at starting opposite Justin King, but Marquis Johnson will likely also be in the mix for snaps.
  • FA Defensive Back #35
Defensive coordinator Ken Flajole believes RCB Josh Gordy has improved as much as any Rams player in the past 6-7 weeks.
The silver lining in the Rams’ ridiculous string of secondary injuries is that they may have unearthed a keeper acquired off waivers in early September. Pro Football Focus still rates Gordy as well below average in coverage and run support.
  • FA Defensive Back #35
Colts acquired CB Josh Gordy from the Rams for an undisclosed draft pick.
Thrown into the fire after injuries decimated the Rams’ secondary last season, Gordy started nine games, but struggled in coverage despite making three picks. He saw some time with the first-team defense in Saturday’s preseason game, however, and could be in the mix to start opposite RCB Jerraud Powers in Indy. Justin King and Cassius Vaughn have been competing for left-corner duties.
  • FA Defensive Back #35
Rams CB Josh Gordy is seeing action with the first-team defense at OTAs.
Gordy was a favorite of the old Rams coaching staff. They’re gone, but the new staff is giving him a long look while easing in rookies Janoris Jenkins and Trumaine Johnson. Gordy won’t be assured a 53-man roster spot this fall.
  • FA Defensive Back #35
Rams promoted CB Josh Gordy from their practice squad.
Gordy was a tough cut in Packers camp after a solid preseason, so he’s at least flashed some ability in the past. He’ll step in as St. Louis’ No. 4 corner.
  • LAC Defensive Back #20
The Colts will tender offers to restricted free agents CB Cassius Vaughn and OL Jeff Linkenbach.
Vaughn and Linkenbach combined to start 19 games for the Colts last season, but if Indianapolis is to take the next step, then both of them will be limited to backup roles in 2013. The Colts will also tender offers to exclusive rights free agents CB Josh Gordy, NT Martin Tevaseu, and OG Joe Reitz.
  • FA Defensive Back #35
Colts re-signed CB Josh Gordy to a one-year, $555,000 contract.
Gordy was an exclusive rights free agent. Acquired from the Rams last August, Gordy appeared in 15 games in 2012, making one start. He’ll have a leg up on a roster spot in camp.
  • FA Defensive Back #35
Colts CB Josh Gordy suffered a dislocated collarbone in Saturday’s Divisional Round loss to the Patriots.
Gordy rose as high as No. 3 on the depth chart this season thanks to injuries in the Colts’ secondary, but played just 185 regular-season snaps. A 2010 undrafted free agent, Gordy is headed for restricted free agency.
