49ers worked out free agent RBs Paul Perkins, Karan Higdon, and Austin Walter.
Even if one of them were to sign a last-minute contract, neither would be in line for work this Sunday behind Jerick McKinnon and Jeffery Wilson. Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman are only week to week as well, so any value from Wilson will likely be short lived. Mostert has been the best back on the roster dating back to late last season.

Texans waived/released DT Angelo Blackson, C/G Greg Mancz, CB Anthony Chesley, G Cordel Iwuagwu, G/T Jerald Hawkins, ILB Nate Hall, LS Anthony Kukwa, LS Jon Weeks, NT Auzoyah Alufohai, OLB Davin Bellamy, RB Karan Higdon Jr., RB Scottie Phillips, S Jaylen Watkins, S Jonathan Owens, T Brent Qvale, T Elijah Nkansah, T Kyle Murphy, T Rick Lenard, TE Jordan Thomas, WR Chad Hansen, WR Issac Whitney, WR Steven Mitchel Jr., and WR Tyler Simmons.
Higdon was an undrafted free agent from Michigan. He’s undersized and doesn’t make a difference on passing downs, limiting his usefullness in the NFL.

  • FA Running Back #24
Texans signed Michigan RB Karan Higdon.
Higdon (5’9/206) was a two-year starter and three-year lead back for Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines, amassing a career 471/2,616/27 (5.6 YPC) rushing line and 16/177/0 receiving. Higdon blazed 4.49 at the Combine as a well above-par athlete but lacks special playmaking ability and struggles in the passing game, typically a death knell for undersized running backs.
