Essentially every available head coach is being linked to the Cowboys at this point. Obviously Riley’s incredible creativity on offense would be welcomed in Dallas, but they’ve also reportedly already interviewed the likes of Marvin Lewis and Mike McCarthy. Jason Garrett still hasn’t been officially released. Expect to continue to hear plenty of rumors and reports from this high-profile coaching search.

Riley was expected to be a hot name on the NFL coaching market, but things had been trending this way for several days. At least for one more year, the 35-year-old will not be making the jump to the big leagues.
