    Jets waived QB Adrian Martinez.
Martinez is a practice squad candidate, but the Jets may choose to go with Brady Cook as the third quarterback behind Josh Fields and Tyrod Taylor. New York also waived LB Jamin Davis, DE Michael Fletcher, T Liam Forandel, T Samuel Jackson, TE Zach Kuntz, DB Tanner McCalister and RB Lawrance Toafili.

Rivals analysts Adam Friedman and Josh Helmholdt predict uncommitted three-star 2019 DE Michael Fletcher will pledge to Michigan State.
Helmholdt and Friedman not exactly going out on a limb with this one, as Fletcher’s previously referred to the Spartans as his “dream offer,” having grown up a huge fan of the program. The 6-foot-5, 233-pounder has gone so far as to pin that Michigan State offer at the top of his Twitter feed. If anybody’s to encroach on Sparty, here, it’ll probably be one of Kentucky, Wisconsin or Michigan, all three of which will be drawing official visits from the Flint, Michigan, native over the coming weeks.
  • FA Defensive End #97
Michigan State received a verbal commitment from three-star 2019 DE Michael Fletcher.
The Spartans continue their roll on the recruiting trail, having now picked up pledges from six prospects over the past week. Fletcher (6'5/233) had called their initial offer a “dream” one and there was some sense that he might be trending in their direction prior to his taking the official plunge on Friday. Had he not pledged to Michigan State, Kentucky may well have come out the victor in this recruiting battle. Rivals ranks Fletcher as the No. 11 prospect in the state of Michigan for the 2019 cycle.
