Alejandro Kirk finished 0-for-4 against the Mariners in Sunday’s loss.

Kirk is batting .204 with one homer and five RBI in 16 games since returning from a fractured thumb. He did have four hard-hit balls in his previous start on Friday, but in addition to striking out once, his balls in play today were hit just 62, 48 and 80 mph.

Alejandro Kirk went 1-for-4 with a solo homer against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Kirk came into this one 7-for-32 (.219) since he was activated off the injured list on June 12. Leading off the sixth inning, he took Joe Ross deep for a solo homer. It was just the second home run all season for Kirk, while slashing .196/.246/.339 across 61 plate appearances.

Alejandro Kirk is out of Toronto’s lineup for Friday’s game against the Rangers.

Kirk started three games in a row from June 14-17, but he’s played just five of nine since, as the Jays are working in Bandon Valenzuela quite a bit more often than they did Tyler Heineman. It doesn’t help that Kirk is hitting only .226/.265/.258 in nine games since coming off the IL. Valenzuela is hitting .286/.340/.571 in his 13 games this month.

Alejandro Kirk is not in Toronto’s starting lineup against the Red Sox on Thursday.

No surprise as it’s a day game after a night game. Kirk has caught all four of his starts so far and has gone 4-for-15 thus far with one run scored and two RBI since being activated from the injured list following thumb surgery. Brandon Valenzuela will get a start today against RHP Sonny Gray.

Alejandro Kirk is not in the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Yankees.

No surprise with Kirk sitting out Saturday’s afternoon affair following Friday night’s series opener. The 27-year-old backstop went 3-for-3 with two RBI and reached base safely in all four of his plate appearances in his return from the injured list on Friday. He missed the previous 10 weeks recovering from thumb surgery. It’ll be rookie Brandon Valenzuela handling the catching duties in this one.

Alejandro Kirk went 3-for-3 with two RBI on Friday against the Yankees in his return to the lineup.

Kirk reached base safely in all four of his plate appearances in his return to Toronto’s lineup following a 10-week absence recovering from thumb surgery. The 27-year-old backstop’s return provides a huge lift for the Blue Jays, who got a strong performance from rookie Brandon Valenzuela during his layoff.

Blue Jays activated C Alejandro Kirk from the 60-day injured list.

He’ll be active tonight, batting cleanup behind Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Kirk fractured his thumb in early April and was only 3-for-20 before going on the injured list, missing a little over two months of the season. Kirk’s ability to hit for average should keep him in the rolodex at catcher in 12-team leagues.

Alejandro Kirk (thumb) went 0-for-4 on Wednesday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Buffalo.

Kirk played eight innings behind the plate during his latest rehab contest and appears to be trending towards a return to Toronto’s lineup at some point later this week. The 27-year-old backstop has been working his way back from thumb surgery back in early April.

Alejandro Kirk (thumb) will continue a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.

Blue Jays manager John Scheider left open the possibility that Kirk could be ready for Friday’s series opener against the Yankees. The 27-year-old backstop kicked off a rehab assignment in the lower minors last week and will get a few additional contests under his belt to knock off any remaining rust this week. He’s been out since undergoing thumb surgery back in early April.
