Andrés Muñoz fired a scoreless ninth inning against the Orioles on Monday to record his 10th save of the season.
Muñoz got the call to protect a three-run lead in the final frame and managed to work around a one-out walk to Gunnar Henderson to slam the door. It was a much-needed rebound performance after coughing up two runs in an ugly blown save against the Tigers over the weekend. The 27-year-old has converted just 10 of 15 save chances to go along with a bloated 5.18 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 37/10 K/BB ratio across 24 1/3 innings this season.

Andrés Muñoz suffered a blown save against the Tigers on Sunday afternoon, giving up two runs on one hit and a pair of walks in 2/3 of an inning.
Muñoz started the inning by getting Spencer Torkelson to pop out on the infield, then made things interesting by issuing a pair of one-out walks to Zach McKinstry and Wenceel Perez. He rebounded to get Matt Vierling on a ground ball to third before Kevin McGonigle lined a walk-off two-run single into right field. The disappointing season continues for Muñoz who now sports a miserable 4.63 ERA and 1.33 WHIP over 23 1/3 innings while converting just nine of his first 14 save chances.

Andrés Muñoz allowed a run while blowing a save versus the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Muñoz allowed a pair of singles while trying to protect a one-run lead, and then hit Nolan Arenado square in the elbow. The right-hander was able to procure a strikeout, and should have gotten a second out at home plate, but Josh Naylor was unable to field the ball and the tying run scored. Muñoz has now blown four saves on the season, and since the run is earned — for now — his ERA is up to 4.98 on the season. Even while missing bats at a level few other hurlers have reached, it’s fair to say that Muñoz has been significant disappointment in 2026.

Andrés Muñoz pitched a clean ninth inning to earn the save on Friday against the Royals.
It took Muñoz 16 pitches to get through this uneventful ninth inning. There were some real battles, but they all amounted to nothing. This was Muñoz’s first converted save in 11 days after blowing his third on Tuesday. He’s yet to hit the dominant level we saw from him most of last year and still has an ugly 4.58 ERA on the season.

Jose A. Ferrer struck out three and allowed one run in ninth inning on Wednesday against the White Sox to record his third save of the season.
Ferrer got the call to protect a two-run lead in the final frame with Andrés Muñoz unavailable after pitching each of the previous two days. The 26-year-old southpaw served up a leadoff homer to veteran lefty-masher Randal Grichuk, but managed to settle down afterwards, striking out Munetaka Murakami, Derek Hill and Colson Montgomery to end it. Simply put, Ferrer has been one of the best relief pitchers in baseball this season with a sparkling 1.90 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 22/3 K/BB ratio across 23 2/3 innings. He’ll continue to vulture the occasional save when Muñoz is unavailable.

Andrés Muñoz earned his eighth save with a scoreless ninth Monday against the Astros.
Muñoz gave up three straight hard-hit balls to begin the inning, but only one turned into a hit, and he then struck out Yordan Alvarez to end the game. As per usual, it’s been bend-but-not-break for Muñoz this season. He has a 5.63 ERA, but he’s 8-for-10 saving games, and he picked up a win after one of the two blown saves.

Andrés Muñoz fanned two in a scoreless ninth for his seventh save Monday against the Braves.
Muñoz gave up a single to Dominic Smith with two outs, but he then got Drake Baldwin to ground out to end the game. It’s his seventh save in nine tries to open the year.

Andrés Muñoz took a blown save after allowing an unearned run in the ninth Saturday versus the Royals.
Muñoz entered with a one-run lead in the ninth and gave up a run after an odd misplay from Julio Rodríguez in center. Everything was fine aside from that, so there’s no cause for concern here. The Mariners, though, did lose in 10 after they failed to score the automatic runner.

Andrés Muñoz pitched a scoreless ninth inning to secure the save in a 5-3 win over the Twins on Wednesday.
The Mariners scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to give Muñoz a lead in the bottom half, and he did not disappoint. The 27-year-old didn’t allow a baserunner and struck out two batters en route to his sixth save of the season. He remains an elite closer option despite his inflated 6.00 ERA.

Andrés Muñoz fired a scoreless ninth inning to get a save against the Cardinals on Saturday.
Muñoz allowed a leadoff walk to Nolan Gorman, but he was able to strike out the next batter and initiated a double play to end the inning without any damage. The right-hander has now save five-of-six chances, and his ERA lowers to 6.55. That ERA is almost entirely based on a five-run scuffle against the Padres. He’s an elite closer.
