White Sox prospect RHP Andrew Mitchell allowed two runs on two hits in five innings on Tuesday in his season debut for Low-A Kannapolis.
Mitchell, 22, walked four and struck out six in the game, and he actually carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning before surrendering a pair of runs. The right-hander was the White Sox’ fourth-round draft pick last June out Texas Christian and spent his professional debut in the Rookie-level Pioneer League, posting a 4.50 ERA and 47/30 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 56 innings (14 starts).
