Reds agreed to terms with RHP Brady Singer on a one-year, $12.75 million contract.
That’s a big arbitration salary, but Singer is a former Super Two player, which bumped him up some, with a whole lot of quantity under his belt; he’s made 156 starts and pitched 855 innings since debuting during the shortened 2020. He’ll be eligible for free agency for the first time at age 30 next winter.

Brady Singer gave up three runs in 3 1/3 innings to take a loss to the Brewers on Sunday.
Singer struck out five before giving up a two-run homer to Danny Jansen in the fourth. He was pulled immediately afterwards. His regular season ends at 14-12 with a 4.03 ERA. We imagine he’ll be left off the Wild Card roster after throwing 71 pitches today. Then it would be between he and Zack Littell for the fourth spot in the Reds’ rotation if they advance to the NLDS.

Brady Singer will start Sunday’s critical regular-season finale against the Brewers.
Here’s an oversimplification: Cincinnati punches their ticket to the postseason with a win over Milwaukee. A loss would open the door for the Mets to leapfrog them into the playoffs as the NL’s final Wild Card team with a victory over the Marlins. Singer came over from the Royals in the offseason and has posted a solid 3.95 ERA across 166 1/3 innings over 31 starts in his Reds debut. This will be the biggest start of his career to date.

Brady Singer surrendered four runs in 5 1/3 innings Tuesday in a loss to the Pirates.
Singer got just four misses on 37 swings tonight, and while he wasn’t hit particularly hard, there was enough contact to do him in. Singer dropped to 14-11 with a 3.95 ERA. He’ll pitch again Sunday if the game matters to the Reds and maybe still if it doesn’t; he’d surely like that 15th win as he enters his final season of arbitration.

Brady Singer allowed two runs — one earned — in 5 2/3 inning of work to get a win over the Cardinals on Wednesday.
Singer was able to strike out six while allowing three hits and two walks in a very solid effort from the 29-year-old. The first run allowed came on a homer by Alec Burleson, while the second was due to an error from Elly De La Cruz. Singer has allowed just five runs over his last three starts while working into the sixth inning in all three. He’ll take a 3.86 ERA into what could be his final start of the year next week, and it’s a friendly one on paper against the Pirates.

Brady Singer allowed two runs over six innings in a loss to the Athletics on Friday.
Singer was victim of the dinger, as he allowed a solo homers to Lawrence Butler in the first and Carlos Cortes in the third; one of two roundtrippers Cortes hit in the game. Outside of that Singer was very solid, but the Reds gave him a big ole goose egg in terms of offensive support. Singer will take the bump again while looking to get similar results from himself and vastly different ones from his offense Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Brady Singer allowed one run with five strikeouts over six innings in a win over the Mets on Saturday.
Singer loaded the bases with one out in the third but was able to escape with just one run scored on a sacrifice fly. He settled in to give the Reds three more scoreless frames, ending his day with five strikeouts over six innings. The 29-year-old right-hander will take a 3.98 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and a 145/56 K/BB ratio across 149 1/3 innings into a start against the Athletics in Sacramento on Friday.

Brady Singer posted eight strikeouts and allowed three runs over six innings on Sunday in a win over the Cardinals.
Singer kept the ball in the yard and notched eight strikeouts for the third time in six starts since the outset of August. He’s also allowed three earned runs or fewer in five of those six outings during that span. He’ll face the Mets on Saturday in a challenging home tilt.

Brady Singer delivered a dominant performance in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Sunday afternoon, allowing just one run on one hit over six strong innings.
Singer punched out nine batters on the afternoon while walking three. The only hit that he allowed was a leadoff triple to Geraldo Perdomo to start the game, who then scored the Diamondbacks’ lone run on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Singer generated 13 swings and misses on 95 pitches on the day — seven on his sweeper — while posting an elite CSW of 40 percent. Unfortunately, the Reds waited to explode with run support until after Singer exited, so he had to settle for a no-decision. He now holds a 4.06 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and a 132/52 K/BB ratio over 137 1/3 innings on the season. He’ll do battle against the Cardinals his next time out on Saturday.

Brady Singer allowed one run in six innings while picking up a win Monday against the Angels.
Singer gave up an RBI double in the first, and then blanked the Halos for the rest of the contest. He allowed six hits with one walk, four strikeouts and landing 55-of-88 pitches for strikes. After a terrible start against the Pirates, Singer has been excellent over the last two starts while allowing only that one run over 12 innings. He’s back on the bump and will look to continue lowering a 4.18 ERA against the Diamondbacks over the weekend.
