If Brandon Inge continues to perform well at third, it might be his full-time position in 2005.
“When we look at it at the end of this season, that could be a possibility,” manager Alan Trammell said. Inge is currently hitting .292 and is better defensively than Eric Munson.

Brandon Inge and Alex Sanchez received identical one-year, $1.35 million contracts from the Tigers.
    Not terribly inappropriate.

Speaking about Brandon Inge, manager Alan Trammell said, ''The way it’s looking right now, going into the off-season, we wouldn’t be looking for a catcher.’'
Inge continues to play well defensively. He posted an 894 OPS in August after coming back from the minors Aug. 7, but so far in September his OPS is only 393.

Brandon Inge has been out of Detroit’s lineup because of a sprained ankle.
The Tigers expect to have Inge back in a few days.

Despite the signing of Ivan Rodriguez, the Tigers still say they’re quite high on Brandon Inge.
“I absolutely want him to stay in the organization,” manager Alan Trammell said. “He’s such a good athlete, we might look into other positions for him.” Bullpen catcher? Peanut vendor? We’re pretty certain Trammell wasn’t actually talking about other positions on the field. Inge’s only real asset is his defensive ability behind the plate. It’s time for everyone in the Tigers organization to admit that he is in for a career as a backup.

The Tigers plan to look at Brandon Inge at third base, center field and perhaps shortstop this spring.
Inge will get a shot to make the Tigers as a utilityman, but he’ll probably be sent to Triple-A Toledo for at least the first couple months of the season. Regardless of how well he picks up his new positions, his bat figures to prevent him from becoming an asset.

Brandon Inge didn’t play tonight because of pain in his right hand.
There’s not going to be a trade, apparently. A report in the Post-Intelligencer today said that the Tigers turned down an offer of Gil Meche for Inge. Because of Inge’s absence, Eric Munson made a rare start against a left-hander and hit a home run.

The Tigers will not activate Brandon Inge (broken finger) on Sunday, the day he is first eligible to return to action.
They will give him a few extra days of recovery time and activate him right after the All-Star break.

Brandon Inge started at third base today and went 1-for-3 against the Mariners.
The Tigers indicated that he’d probably sit out a second straight game because of his slump.

Brandon Inge isn’t likely to start again tonight, although he’s just being given a couple days off to regroup and try to find a cure for his slump.
Placido Polanco was great in his absence last night, and will probably get another start tonight. Inge wasn’t happy about sitting, and stayed late looking for an answer to his slump, which he says he found. ''I’ve got it where I want it now, he said. ''I feel I can jump right back to where I was in the beginning. What I found was pretty small, but huge for me. I haven’t been starting my swing early enough. I could see that from the film.’' He is not buying into the prescription of ''rest’’ as a way to help. ''I was excited about playing, about coming to the ballpark. If he (Trammell) is thinking that this is going to help me, it’s not.’' Alan Trammell responded by saying ''we’ll let him just work on it a little more [tonight].’'
