Orioles pitching prospect Brian Gonzalez took a perfect game into the sixth inning Tuesday in a victory for Low-A Delmarva.
Lakewood’s Derek Campbell ruined the perfect game with a bunt single. That was the only hit Gonzalez allowed all night, as the left-hander fired 6 1/3 shutout innings for the win. The 19-year-old is 2-0 with a 0.73 ERA over his last three starts. Gonzalez has the second-most walks in the South Atlantic League but he’s also held opponents to a .179 batting average this season.
