Brooks Baldwin (underwent UCL surgery on his right elbow with an internal brace and will be out for the remainder of the season.
Baldwin was diagnosed with a sprained right elbow near the end of spring training after battling inflammation. He then opted to undergo surgery on April 1st and is expected to make a full recovery for spring training in 2027. In the meantime, Luisangel Acuña and Tristan Peters will continue to get regular at-bats in the outfield, with Sam Antonacci waiting in the wings in the minors.

White Sox placed INF/OF Brooks Baldwin on the 10-day injured list with a sprained right elbow.
Baldwin likely would have played pretty regularly for the White Sox at the start of the year, but his elbow started bothering him while throwing, which is something he’s dealt with previously. It sounds like he’ll miss at least the first few weeks, opening up extra at-bats for Luisangel Acuña and Lenyn Sosa.

Brooks Baldwin was diagnosed with right elbow inflammation after undergoing imaging on Thursday.
No word yet on any sort of timeline for when he may return to action, but the White Sox aren’t likely to push him too quickly here. He could be looking at a short stint on the injured list to start the regular season.

White Sox manager Will Venable said Brooks Baldwin is dealing with “some elbow soreness,” which has kept him out of spring games since March 6th.
Baldwin was a bit of a deep league sleeper in fantasy baseball after putting up impressive Triple-A numbers and hitting 11 home runs in 328 plate appearances with the White Sox in 2025. Venable said that Baldwin is “kind of day to day right now, will be evaluated,” so perhaps this is not a long-term concern, but we likely won’t know until the weekend or next week.

Brooks Baldwin went 2-for-4 with a homer, double and three RBI on Sunday afternoon, propelling the White Sox to an 8-0 victory over the Nationals in their season finale.
Baldwin clobbered a 423-foot (107.4 mph EV) solo shot off of Brad Lord in the fourth inning that extended the White Sox’ lead to 3-0. He then added on with a two-run double in the fifth that made it 7-0. The 25-year-old infielder finishes the 2025 season slashing .240/.290/.407 with 11 homers and 38 RBI in 328 plate appearances with the White Sox.
  • CWS Right Fielder #18
Mike Tauchman and Michael A. Taylor are both on the bench for a second straight game Tuesday against the Yankees.
Tauchman has been a mainstay against right-handers all year long and Taylor was playing most of the time with Luis Robert Jr. on the shelf, but it seems the White Sox have decided to take a look at younger players this last week of the season. They have Brooks Baldwin in center and Dominic Fletcher in right tonight. Notably, the prioritizing of younger players isn’t doing Curtis Mead any good; he’s started just one of the last six games.
  • CWS 2nd Baseman #27
White Sox activated INF/OF Brooks Baldwin from the 10-day injured list.
Baldwin rejoins Chicago’s bench mix following a minimum stint on the injured list with a lower back strain. The 24-year-old rookie infielder holds a pedestrian .628 OPS with four homers and three steals in 54 games.
  • CWS 2nd Baseman #27
White Sox placed INF/OF Brooks Baldwin on the 10-day injured list with a lower back strain.
Baldwin cannot catch a break. He has crushed Triple-A pitching this season and waited a long time to get another shot against MLB pitchers. He was recalled last Tuesday and will now head to the IL after only a week on the big league roster. It remains to be seen if he will return to the MLB or Triple-A roster when he is healthy again.
  • CWS 2nd Baseman #27
Brooks Baldwin was scratched from Tuesday’s lineup with lower back tightness.
Austin Slater will take over in left field on Tuesday night against the Blue Jays. Baldwin is presumably day-to-day for now. It doesn’t sound like a significant concern.
  • CWS Center Fielder #88
White Sox activated OF Luis Robert Jr. from the 10-day injured list.
Tristan Gray was demoted to make room. Robert missed just less than two weeks with his hamstring strain, and now he has a bit more than two weeks to catch the eye of contenders before a seemingly inevitable trade later this month. At least for a little while, Michael A. Taylor should receive less playing time with Robert back. Brooks Baldwin has been starting in center of late, but he should continue to play pretty regularly in a super-utility role.
