Cardinals reassigned LHP Bruce Zimmermann, OF Chase Davis and RHP Max Rajcic to minor league camp.
The latest batch of cuts from Cardinals camp pares things down to 43 players with just over two weeks left until Opening Day. Davis was St. Louis’ first-round pick back in 2023 and has yet to reach the majors. Zimmermann was in camp as a non-roster invitee after making one late-season spot start for the Brewers last year.

Cardinals signed LHP Bruce Zimmermann to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Zimmerman made one ill-fated, late-season spot start for the playoff-bound Brewers and was tagged for six runs — five earned — over six innings by the Padres before being cut loose by the club. The 30-year-old southpaw put together a solid 4.19 FIP across 138 innings of work over 28 appearances at the Triple-A level last year. He’ll presumably have a chance to compete for a roster spot with the Cardinals in spring training.

Brewers LHP Bruce Zimmermann elected free agency.
Zimmerman opted against sticking around as emergency left-handed depth during Milwaukee’s postseason run after being removed from the club’s 40-man roster last weekend. The 30-year-old southpaw surrendered six runs — five earned — over six innings during his lone appearance for the Brewers during the regular season, a late-September spot start against the Padres.

Brewers sent LHP Bruce Zimmermann outright to Triple-A Nashville.
Zimmermann passed through waivers unclaimed after being lit up for six runs — five earned — over six innings on Tuesday in a spot start against the Padres. It was his lone appearance for Milwaukee after being brought up last weekend to pitch in long relief. The 30-year-old lefty figures to get a head start on free agency and search for a new opportunity on the open market.

Brewers designated LHP Bruce Zimmermann for assignment.
Zimmermann was only up for a spot start ,and he allowed five earned runs in six innings during a loss to the Padres on Tuesday. He’ll hit the waiver wire, but with this little time left, it’s likely he doesn’t change organizations.

Bruce Zimmermann allowed six runs -- five earned -- with one strikeout over six innings in a loss against the Padres on Tuesday.
Zimmermann loaded the bases for Ryan O’Hearn in the first inning, who took him deep for a grand slam to put the Padres on the board for a big early lead. An error in the second inning put a runner on before Luis Arraez took Zimmermann deep for a two-run blast. Zimmermann was able to settle in to give the Brewers four more innings of work, ending his day with just one strikeout over six. That was likely his one and only appearance for Milwaukee after making Tuesday’s spot start.

Bruce Zimmermann will start on Tuesday against the Padres.
Zimmermann was called up over the weekend to pitch in long relief for Milwaukee, but he’s going to take the ball on Tuesday in place of an injured Brandon Woodruff (lat) to kick off a bullpen game. It’ll likely be a one-and-done outing for the 30-year-old southpaw as part of Milwaukee’s rotation. He’s not a recommended fantasy option, especially in a road tilt against the playoff-bound Padres.

Brewers selected the contract of LHP Bruce Zimmermann from Triple-A Nashville.
Zimmermann is making his first appearance back in the big leagues since the 2023 season when he got into seven contests for the Orioles. The 30-year-old lefty earns a late-season look with the Brewers after posting a respectable 4.11 ERA across 138 innings of work over 28 appearances (21 starts) for Triple-A Nashville this season.

Brewers re-signed LHP Bruce Zimmermann to a minor league contract.
Zimmermann returns to the fold as extra organizational pitching depth for Milwaukee just a couple days after opting out of his previous minor league pact with the club. The 30-year-old lefty hasn’t appeared in the big league since the 2023 campaign.
  • FA Starting Pitcher #55
Brewers LHP Bruce Zimmermann has elected free agency.
Zimmermann heads back to the open market in search of a new opportunity after triggering the opt-out in his minor league pact with Milwaukee. The 30-year-old southpaw hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since the 2023 campaign. He’s compiled a pedestrian 4.35 ERA across 89 innings (19 appearances, 13 starts) this season at the Triple-A level. He’s merely organizational fodder at this stage of his career.
