Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports that the Phillies have reached an agreement with free agent right-hander Bryse Wilson.
The 27-year-old hurler elected free agency from the White Sox after he was removed from their 40-man roster in September. It’s unclear if it will be a major league contract or of the minor league variety with an invitation to big league camp. Wilson posted a disappointing 6.65 ERA, 1.82 WHIP and a 28/19 K/BB ratio over 47 1/3 innings in 20 appearances with the White Sox in 2025.

White Sox RHP Bryse Wilson elected free agency.
Wilson hits free agency after posting an underwhelming 6.65 ERA across 47 1/3 innings over 20 appearances (five starts) this season in the big leagues. The 27-year-old righty holds a serviceable 4.82 ERA in 461 frames over 163 appearances (57 starts) in the majors dating back to 2018.

White Sox sent RHP Bryse Wilson outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
Wilson, 27, had been designated for assignment earlier in the week. The expectation is that he’ll accept the assignment and continue to function as extra rotation depth for the White Sox at Triple-A Charlotte. Wilson has struggled to a 6.65 ERa over 47 1/3 innings in 20 appearances (five starts) for the White Sox this season.

White Sox designated RHP Bryse Wilson for assignment.
Wilson, who was just added to the roster Sunday, gets DFA’d again after pitching two hitless innings on Tuesday. He has a 6.65 ERA in 47 1/3 innings over five starts and 15 relief appearances for the White Sox this season.

White Sox selected the contract of RHP Bryse Wilson from Triple-A Charlotte.
Wilson returns to the big leagues after veteran starter Aaron Civale was claimed off waivers by the Cubs prior to Sunday’s game against the Yankees. The 27-year-old righty was demoted to the minors back in mid-June after posting a calamitous 6.95 ERA across 45 1/3 innings (19 appearances, five starts) in his Chicago debut.

White Sox sent RHP Bryse Wilson outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
Wilson had been designated for assignment earlier in the week. He passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as extra rotation depth for the White Sox at the Triple-A level.

White Sox designated RHP Bryse Wilson for assignment.
Instead of getting another chance in the rotation with Jonathan Cannon down, Wilson is being bumped from the White Sox roster here. The veteran was 0-2 with a 6.95 ERA in five starts and 14 relief appearances. He’ll likely clear waivers.

White Sox placed RHP Jonathan Cannon on the 15-day injured list with a strained lower back.
This explains why his stuff was off in last night’s loss to the Tigers. Cannon takes a 2-7 record and a 4.66 ERA with him to the IL. That doesn’t seem like much, but it’s considerably better than his replacement is likely to do. As much as the Triple-A rotation has struggled this year, the Whtie Sox might just default back to Bryse Wilson as Cannon’s replacement.

Filling in for Jonathan Cannon, Bryse Wilson gave up four runs — two earned — in four-plus innings Saturday versus the Rangers.
Wilson, who lost his rotation spot as a result of the Adrian Houser signing, was making his first appearance in nine days. He could fill in again next week if Cannon requires an IL stint. If not, he’ll pitch in middle relief.

Jonathan Cannon has been scratched from Saturday’s start against the Rangers with lower back tightness.
It’ll be Bryse Wilson taking the ball to kick off a bullpen game for Chicago. It’s unclear at the moment whether Cannon will require a trip to the injured list, but there should be some clarity on his status at some point this weekend. The 24-year-old holds a respectable 3.76 ERA across 55 innings (10 appearances, eight starts) this season.
