  • TEX Shortstop #5
Corey Seager homered and drove in two runs in a loss to the Rockies on Friday.
Seager got the Rangers on the board with a homer, and he drove in another run with a bases-loaded walk that tied the game at 2-2. Things are starting to pick up for the 30-year-old star, but his .239/.314/.345 slash is obviously one of the more disappointing developments of the (early) 2024 campaign.

Corey Seager is not in the Rangers’ starting lineup for the nightcap of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Athletics.
The 30-year-old superstar shortstop went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout during the first game and is slashing an underwhelming .230/.303/.309 with three homers and 13 RBI on the season. Josh Smith will start in his place at shortstop and bat fifth for the Rangers on Wednesday evening against Osvaldo Bido and the A’s.

Corey Seager hit a three-run homer in the eighth to lead the Rangers past the A’s 4-2 on Monday.
The Rangers were still scoreless until Seager took Lucas Erceg deep in the eighth. They then added an insurance run in the ninth. The homer was Seager’s third in 33 games this season. He’s obviously still way off his 2023 numbers, but not in such a way that he’s a particularly weaker bet for the rest of the season.

Corey Seager went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a loss to the Royals on Friday.
Seager drove in the first — and only — run of the night with an RBI single off Brady Singer in the third. Seager has not gotten off to a strong start to the 2024 campaign, as the pair of knocks still has his average at a disappointing .229 with an equally disappointing .297 slugging percentage.

Corey Seager went 1-for-4 with a solo homer on Saturday against the Reds.
Seager was originally scheduled to get the day off on Saturday, but was a late addition to the lineup. On his 30th birthday, he swatted a solo homer in the ninth inning, his second of the season. Seager has been off to a relatively cold start, hitting .247/.336/.330 with the two homers, 12 runs scored, and seven RBI across 110 plate appearances.

Corey Seager has been added to the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Reds.
It appears Seager was able to talk his way onto manager Bruce Bochy’s lineup card after he was originally slated to sit out Saturday’s showdown against the Reds. The 30-year-old fantasy stalwart appears to be doing just fine after suffering a left shin contusion earlier this week when he was hit by a pitch.

Corey Seager and Adolis García are not in the lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Reds.
It’s a routine off day for both Seager and Garcìa with Josh Smith at shortstop and Travis Jankowski taking over in right field. The 30-year-old superstar shortstop could probably use a day off after suffering a left shin contusion earlier this week when he was hit by a pitch. The dynamic duo should return for Sunday’s series finale.

Corey Seager (shin) is in the Rangers’ starting lineup as a designated hitter against the Mariners on Thursday.
Good news. Seager was hit in the shin by a pitch on Wednesday and was diagnosed with a contusion, but it appears that won’t stop the 29-year-old from getting back on the diamond. The team is taking somewhat of a precaution by placing him as a designated hitter, but for fantasy purposes, managers can breathe easy for the time being.

The Rangers announced that Corey Seager left Wednesday’s game with a left shin contusion.
Fantasy managers can breathe a sigh of relief now. Seager was drilled in the shin by a pitch during the seventh inning of Wednesday’s battle against the Mariners, but it sounds like he was fortunate to avoid any structural damage. He’ll be sore for a couple of days, but it shouldn’t be anything that will keep Seager out of the Rangers’ lineup for long.

Corey Seager was pulled from Wednesday’s contest against the Mariners after being hit on the shin by a pitch during the seventh inning.
The superstar shortstop remained in the game initially to run the bases for himself but was ultimately lifted when the Rangers took the field. It’s likely that he’ll undergo some precautionary X-rays to rule out any fractures. Hopefully it’s just a bruise and he’ll be considered day-to-day. Expect Rangers’ skipper Bruce Bochy to provide an update as soon as more information is available.
