Cory Dunlap went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double and four RBI for North Shore of the Hawaiian Winter League on Tuesday.
Dunlap, a 2004 third-round pick, is batting .294/.385/.412 in 34 at-bats in Hawaii. He finished at .261/.435/.461 in 284 at-bats in the Florida State League thsi year. That he’s a poor first baseman will hold him back as a prospect and he’s probably not ever going to overtake James Loney in Los Angeles. However, his on-base skills might make him attractive to a few AL teams if he can put together a nice season in Double-A in 2007.
