Davis Martin allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Twins on Tuesday.
Martin gave up 10 hits, walked three and struck out two. It was a tough outing for Martin, who allowed 13 baserunners, gave up six runs, had only two strikeouts and failed to complete five innings. His ERA rose to just 2.61 after the shellacking. Martin is lined up to face the Braves at home next week.

Davis Martin pitched six innings of one-run ball and fanned five in defeating the Twins on Thursday.
Martin got 18 outs on 84 pitches, with a 33 percent whiff rate (14 of 42) and a 33 percent CSW (28 of 84). He’s up to 8-1 with a 2.00 ERA in 12 starts. Stuff models still aren’t overly impressed by him, and it seems likely there will be some regression going forward, but with his walk rate down and groundball rate climbing, he could remain somewhat above average. He’ll face the Twins again next week in Minnesota.

Davis Martin earned his seventh win after allowing four runs in 5 2/3 innings Friday versus the Giants.
Although he gave up as many runs tonight as in his previous five starts combined, Martin struck out seven in maybe his easiest win to date, as the White Sox gave him nine runs to work with in the fourth. The team is now 9-1 when Martin starts and 17-23 the rest of the time. Martin will make his next start Wednesday at home against the Twins.

Davis Martin allowed just a run over six innings while striking out seven in a win over the Cubs on Saturday.
It’s yet another strong outing for Martin, and if the season did somehow end after Saturday’s outing, he might be the Cy Young favorite. Weird, but impressive. He struck out seven, and allowed just a solo homer in terms of run-prevention. His ERA lowered slightly to 1.61 from 1.62, and his K/BB improves to a video game-esque 59/10. He has to be in fantasy lineups next weekend against the Giants.

Davis Martin struck out nine and allowed one run over six innings on Sunday against the Mariners, lowering his ERA to 1.62 for the season.
Martin allowed five baserunners while throwing 105 pitches over six strong frames. He’s been a different pitcher this season after adding a cutter and re-designing his breaking pitches. His slider, in particular, has been a difference-maker and entered the outing with a 59 percent whiff rate on 93 pitches. The pitch models aren’t fully buying in, but his advanced metrics show enough for him to be a must-start option at home against the Cubs next time out.

Davis Martin didn’t give up a run in his seven innings while striking out 10 in a victory over the Angels on Monday.
It’s time to start taking Martin more seriously. He generated 19 swings and misses to procure the double-digit strikeout game, and he allowed only four hard-hit balls in the process. That’s now three-consecutive starts where he’s allowed no more than one run, and the Angels really didn’t challenge the 29-year-old as seen in just two extra-base hits. He now has a 1.64 ERA, 51-1 record and 43/8 K/BB ratio. He’ll try and continue to prove this is real Friday in a start against the Mariners at home in Chicago.

Davis Martin went 5 1/3 innings while striking out seven and allowing one run in a win over the Angels on Tuesday.
Martin did allow seven hits, but he was able to limit the damage to the single run — a run-scoring single by Jo Adell — thanks in large part to those aforementioned strikeouts. He’s been excellent to begin 2026, as the win improves his record to a deserved 4-1 with an ERA of 1.95. He’ll get the Angels again on Monday, and it might be time to take this a little more seriously. It’s cautious optimism, but, optimism.

Davis Martin limited the Diamondbacks to one run through 6 1/3 innings in a no-decision Thursday.
Martin fanned seven, besting his previous season high by one. It’s his fourth straight quality start, and he’s now 3-1 with a 2.01 ERA. It still seems like something of a fluke; his 22 percent strikeout rate is just average, and his 51 percent hard-hit rate against is one of the highest marks in the leagues. He’s been a flyball pitcher, too. He’ll get the Angels at home next time out. We’d continue to avoid him in mixed leagues.

Davis Martin tossed seven innings of one-run ball in defeating the A’s on Friday.
Martin struck out four and walked two. He allowed just three hits despite giving up nine hard-hit balls. The win makes him 3-1 with a 2.16 ERA and a 19/6 K/BB in 25 innings, but he’s still giving up too much hard contact and too many flyballs to be very interesting in fantasy leagues. He’ll face the Diamondbacks next week.

Davis Martin logged a quality start during Friday night’s loss to the Royals, giving up two runs on seven hits over his seven innings of work.
Martin punched out three batters on the night and didn’t allow a base on balls. He allowed an RBI double to Bobby Witt Jr. in the fourth inning then served up a solo shot to Carter Jensen in the seventh inning. Unfortunately, the White Sox couldn’t score for him so that was enough to hand him a loss. Martin got 13 swings and misses on 82 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll bring an impressive 2.50 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and a 15/4 K/BB ratio (18 innings) into Thursday’s matchup against the Rays.
