Daz Cameron has signed with the Doosan Bears of the Korea Baseball Organization, according to The New York Post’s Jon Heyman.
Cameron was one of the better prospects in Houston’s system last decade after being selected 37th overall in the 2015 MLB Draft. The 28-year-old was traded to Detroit in the Justin Verlander swap and never turned into an everyday option at the highest level before bouncing around the last couple years. He got into 21 games this past season for the Brewers, hitting .195 (8-for-41) with one homer and one steal. He’ll attempt to rebuild his value overseas in Korea next year.
  • MIL Right Fielder #20
Brewers sent OF Daz Cameron outright to Triple-A Nashville.
Cameron has the option to elect free agency or stick around with Milwaukee as extra organizational depth after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 28-year-old outfielder got into 21 games this season for the Brewers, hitting .195 (8-for-41) with one homer and one stolen base.
  • MIL Right Fielder #20
Brewers designated OF Daz Cameron for assignment.
Anthony Seigler has no outfield experience, so the Brewers will be shorthanded there in dropping Cameron from the roster. Still, they obviously wanted some more offense, and they do have Blake Parker hopefully coming back before long. Cameron hit .195/.214/.293 with a 13/1 K/BB in 42 plate appearances.
  • MIL Right Fielder #20
Brewers placed OF Daz Cameron on the paternity list.
Maybe a future third-generation major leaguer? The Brewers aren’t facing any righties this weekend, so Cameron was unlikely to make any starts,
  • MIL Right Fielder #20
Daz Cameron went 2-for-4 with a home run Wednesday against the Reds.
Cameron’s homer off Andrew Abbott was projected at 437 feet. It was his first in 17 appearances for the Brewers this season. He’ll likely keep serving in a platoon role against lefties until Blake Perkins returns.
  • MIL Right Fielder #10
Sal Frelick (knee) is out for the third straight game on Wednesday against the Astros.
The Brewers have called Frelick day-to-day and were encouraged by his MRI results, but he will not be in the starting lineup again on Wednesday. Daz Cameron will start in right field and bat fifth.
  • MIL Right Fielder #10
Sal Frelick left Sunday’s game against the Cubs with left knee discomfort.
MLB.com’s Adam McCalvy notes that Frelick grabbed his left leg following an awkward swing in the second inning, but was able to remain in the contest for another frame before being replaced by Daz Cameron in right field. The versatile 25-year-old will head for further testing to determine the severity of the issue. There should be an additional update on his status following Sunday’s contest.
  • MIL Right Fielder #28
Brewers selected the contract of OF Daz Cameron from Triple-A Nashville.
Cameron returns to the big leagues ahead of Saturday’s contest against the Cardinals with center fielder Garrett Mitchell landing on the injured list with an oblique strain. The 28-year-old former top prospect has torn the cover off the ball this season at Triple-A Nashville, hitting .370/.404/.870 with six homers and three steals through 11 games. His father, Mike, spent two seasons with the Brewers towards the conclusion of his 17-year career.
  • MIL Right Fielder #28
Brewers acquired OF Daz Cameron and cash considerations from the Orioles for LHP Grant Wolfram.
Cameron was a notable prospect last decade, making top-100 lists in 2016, but he never really carved out a permanent role in the bigs. Batting .201/.263/.330 with 10 homers and 14 steals in 430 plate appearances at the highest level since 2020, he’ll head to Triple-A Nashville as extra organizational outfield depth for Milwaukee.
  • BAL Catcher #72
Orioles reassigned C Samuel Basallo, OF Daz Cameron, INF/OF Nick Gordon, RHP Corbin Martin, RHP Levi Stoudt and RHP Thaddeus Ward to minor league camp.
One of the top prospects in the fantasy landscape, it feels like only a matter of time before Basallo is mashing at the highest level. The 20-year-old prodigy made it all the way to Triple-A last year and boasts top-of-the-scale raw power potential. He’s unlikely to retain catcher eligibility long-term, but he’ll make enough loud contact to be an impact fantasy contributor regardless of his defensive home.
