Eduardo Rodriguez was excellent in Sunday afternoon’s victory over the Phillies, scattering six hits over six innings of scoreless baseball.
The 32-year-old southpaw struck out five batters on the day while issuing three walks. The biggest threat against him came as the Phillies put two men on with two outs in the fourth inning, but Rodriguez was able to punch out Bryson Stott to diffuse the situation. He generated 10 swings and misses on 95 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 22 percent. He now sits at 9-8 on the season with an underwhelming 4.91 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and a 137/59 K/BB ratio over 148 1/3 innings. He’ll finish his season on Saturday with a matchup against the Padres in San Diego.
