Endy Rodríguez underwent ulnar nerve transposition surgery on Tuesday and will miss the rest of the season.
It’s basically a second straight lost year for Rodríguez, who underwent Tommy John surgery last summer. He played in just 18 games for the Pirates, hitting .173/.246/.250 in 57 plate appearances. The good news for him is that Joey Bart has regressed and Henry Davis still hasn’t done anything to establish himself. Unless the Pirates target an upgrade from the current group, Rodríguez should have a chance to compete for the starting job next spring.

Endy Rodriguez (elbow) is visiting Dr. Neal ElAttrache this week.
Rodriguez has been on the injured list with elbow inflammation since early June. He visited Dr. ElAttrache, who performed Rodriguez’s last elbow surgery, later that same month, and the team opted to give him a PRP injection. The fact that he is going back to Dr. ElAttrache now is not a great sign for his recovery, but we will wait for more updates.

Pirates’ skipper Don Kelly told reporters on Saturday that Endy Rodriguez (elbow) will receive a PRP injection next week and then be shut down to rest for the next four weeks.
That explains why he was moved to the 60-day injured list on Friday. That determination was made after a follow-up examination with Dr. Neal ElAttrache. It sounds like Rodriguez is going to be sidelined well into the second half of the season and can probably be dropped in any season-long leagues.

Pirates transferred C/1B Endy Rodriguez to the 60-day injured list.
Nothing has changed in the prognosis for the 25-year-old backstop, this was merely done as a procedural move to free up a spot on the team’s 40-man roster for the addition of Michael Darrell-Hicks on Friday afternoon. There’s still no word on how long the Pirates expect him to be sidelined for, though he now won’t be eligible to return until the middle of August.

Pirates placed C/1B Endy Rodríguez on the 10-day injured list with right elbow discomfort.
Rodríguez head back to the shelf after being removed from Friday’s game against the Phillies with right elbow discomfort. The 25-year-old former top prospect is hitting just .173 with zero homers through 18 games this season in the big leagues.

Pirates reinstated C Endy Rodriguez off the 10-day injured list.
Rodriguez has been out of action since April 15 due to a finger laceration. The 25-year-old should see a good amount of time behind the plate, as he’s replacing Joey Bart (concussion) on the active roster.

Endy Rodríguez (finger) went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run for Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday.
Rodríguez has been on the IL with a right index finger laceration since April 15. He’s 3-for-10 on his rehab assignment with two home runs, one walk and one strikeout. There’s a chance he could return to Pittsburgh sometime next week.

Endy Rodriguez (finger) had his splint removed this week.
Rodriguez suffered a lacerated right index finger on April 14. Now that he is out of his splint, he “is playing catch and doing a slightly modified swing.” Once he can progress to taking full swings, we’ll have a better sense of the timeline for his return.

Pirates placed C/1B Endy Rodríguez on the 10-day injured list with a right index finger laceration.
Rodríguez is going to need more than a couple days off after suffering a serious cut during Monday’s contest against the Nationals. The 24-year-old should rejoin Pittsburgh’s catching mix by the end of April.

Pirates are planning to place Endy Rodríguez on the IL and recall Chase Shugart prior to Tuesday’s game.
Rodríguez suffered a finger laceration Monday night. The Pirates have been going with an extra position player since Joey Bart hurt his back, so Shugart’s addition will put them back up to 13 pitchers. If Rodríguez hadn’t gotten hurt, Henry Davis probably would have returned to Triple-A within the next couple of days.
