Rockies sent LHP Evan Justice outright to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Justice went unclaimed on waivers after being removed from Colorado’s 40-man roster over the weekend. The 26-year-old southpaw will remains with the club as extra organizational depth. He’s made 10 relief appearances for the Rockies over the last three years.

Rockies designated LHP Evan Justice for assignment.
Justice has been removed from Colorado’s 40-man roster to make room for righty Zach Agnos. The 26-year-old lefty made 10 relief appearances for the Rockies over the last three seasons.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #43
Rockies optioned RHPs Anthony Molina and Juan Mejia and LHP Evan Justice to Triple-A Albuquerque; reassigned LHP Jefry Yan to minor league camp.
Molina is probably the biggest surprise of the group, as the 23-year-old hurler made 35 appearances out of the Rockies’ bullpen during his rookie campaign in 2024 — posting a 6.79 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and a 41/22 K/BB ratio across 59 2/3 innings. He struggled in his two Cactus League outings, giving up four runs in his three innings of work (12.00 ERA) with an untenable 2.33 WHIP. He should get an opportunity to work out of the Rockies’ bullpen at some point in 2025.

Rockies optioned LHP Evan Justice to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Justice threw just eight pitches since being recalled from Triple-A on Sunday. He walked one batter and struck out the only other one he faced, so he’ll now head back to Triple-A to wait for his next chance. Jaden Hill was called up to take his spot.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #96
Rockies recalled RHP Jaden Hill from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Hill was a second-round pick of the Rockies back in 2021 but after struggling in 16 starts last year in High-A, the Rockies decided to transition him to the bullpen. That may be a better fit long-term since command has always been a bit of a concern for Hill but his stuff is elite. He features a fastball that he can run up into the high 90s, a plus changeup, and a slider that he’s worked to recapture. Hill was strong in 38 1/3 innings in Double-A, posting a 3.52 ERA and 56:11 K:BB ratio, but his seven Triple-A innings have not been great. If he does get into a game and make his MLB debut, it will be a great story since the 24-year-old was one of the top pitching prospects in the country in high school before experiencing elbow issues as a freshman at LSU and then having his 2020 season cut short by COVID and undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2021. Evan Justice was sent to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Rockies recalled LHP Evan Justice from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Justice will have the chance to make his MLB debut over the final month of the season. The left-hander will get that opportunity despite having an 11.47 ERA in the minors this year over 30 appearances. It’s definitely September

Rockies optioned LHP Evan Justice to Triple-A Albuquerque; Reassigned INFs Coco Montes and Aaron Schunk to minor league camp.
The 25-year-old appeared in 38 games across Triple-A, Double-A and High-A with 13 of those games coming with Triple-A Albuquerque where he posted a 6.23 ERA across 13 innings. Justice allowed five earned runs with a 7/6 K/BB ratio in 8 innings of work during Spring Training with the Rockies.

Withe Daniel Bard (forearm) returning to the Rockies’ bullpen on Monday, someone needed to get the boot, and Justice drew the short straw this time around. The 25-year-old hurler registered an 8.59 ERA, 3.00 WHIP and a 7/8 K/BB ratio over his 7 1/3 innings of work in nine appearances at the big league level.

Rockies selected the contract of LHP Evan Justice from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Justice, 25, has pitched between three different levels in the minors this season while posting a 3.49 ERA and 63/26 K/BB ratio over 38 2/3 relief innings. He’ll be making his major league debut when he gets into a game.
