Padres signed RHP Francisco Mendoza to a minor league contract.
The 29-year-old spent the first seven seasons of his professional career toiling in the minor leagues for the Rangers. He registered a 6.20 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 47/18 K/BB ratio across 53 2/3 innings at Triple-A Round Rock in 2016. He adds bullpen depth at the minor league level for the Padres.
