Gavin Sheets went 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBI against the Dodgers on Saturday.

Sheets was the Padres’ player of the game in the 15-3 loss, connecting on his 13th homer against Yoshinobu Yamamoto and also singling in the team’s second run of the game. He came into the night hitting .181/.283/.295 with three homers in his previous 32 games. But everyone who picked him up during his mid-May hot streak has likely moved on by now, which is probably for the best.

Manny Machado slugged his 12th home run of the season on Saturday, lifting the Padres to a lopsided 9-3 win over the Orioles.

Machado took Orioles reliever Albert Suárez deep in the ninth inning to close out a five-homer afternoon for the Padres that included blasts by Jackson Merrill, Samad Taylor, Gavin Sheets and Rodolfo Durán. The 33-year-old veteran third baseman has hit a bit of a rough patch lately, batting .196 (9-for-46) with two homers and five RBI since the start of June.

Gavin Sheets went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI on Friday evening as the Padres fell to the Orioles in Baltimore.

Sheets got the Padres on the board first with an RBI double off of Shane Baz in the top half of the first. He then capped off the scoring in the ballgame with an RBI single in the fifth. The 30-year-old is now hitting .230/.317/.449 with 10 homers, 29 RBI and three stolen bases in 221 plate appearances on the season.

Miguel Andujar (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Reds.

Padres manager Craig Stammen told reporters there’s a chance Andujar is available off the bench, which seemingly signals that a trip to the injured list is off the table. The 31-year-old was lifted from Sunday’s game with hamstring tightness. It’ll be Gavin Sheets handling DH on Monday night in his absence.

Ty France is starting at first base and batting cleanup against the Phillies on Thursday

With Nick Castellanos no longer in San Diego, the Padres have been using Gavin Sheets in left field more often, which has freed up first base for Ty France. Since May 1st, France is hitting .292/.313/.508 in 68 plate appearances with three home runs, 10 RBI, and a 48 percent hard-hit rate. That has also come with a 22/2 K/BB ratio, so it’s not all great news, but he is worth a look in deeper formats if he’s going to be a regular in the lineup.

Gavin Sheets homered twice, doubled, knocked in four runs and walked twice in the Padres’ 8-3 win over the Mariners on Sunday Night Baseball.

Sheets took George Kirby deep in the first and sixth innings in a performance that raised his OPS from .804 to .896. Sheets was also flying pretty high early in the 2025 season, and though he didn’t quite keep it up, he had easily his best year to date. This year, so far, his EV, bat speed and strikeout numbers are all quite similar to last season. It’s probably not going to lead to any lasting mixed-league value, but he’s turned into a nice contributor in San Diego after 3 1/3 years with the White Sox in which he was one of the AL’s worst players.

Gavin Sheets went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in a 3-1 win on Wednesday against the Brewers.

The Padres did literally nothing all game offensively as Jacob Misiorowski set them down with ease. Then, a two-out single by Miguel Andujar in the ninth inning off Abner Uribe led to a walk by Xander Bogaerts before Sheets stepped to the plate. He promptly smacked a go-ahead home run that barely cleared the right field wall and left the Milwaukee crowd stunned. That was Sheets’ seventh long ball of the year as he’s carved out a nice role against right-handed hitters for San Diego.

Gavin Sheets hit a three-run homer to give the Padres the lead in the top of the ninth in a 10-8 win over the Rockies on Thursday.

Sheets was taking his second at-bat off the bench after replacing Ty France when he homered off Victor Vodnik to complete a ninth-inning rally that saw the Padres go from down 8-5 to up 10-8. It was his third homer in 79 plate appearances this year. He’s batting .227/.266/.467 as the Padres’ usual first baseman against right-handers. Today’s game was actually the first of the year in which he didn’t get the nod versus a righty.

Fernando Tatis Jr. is making is second consecutive start at second on base on Sunday against the Rockies.

The 27-year-old superstar proved to be capable at the position on Saturday and it appears as though it could become a regular thing going forward — which would be a boon to his already high fantasy value. Jake Cronenworth and Gavin Sheets are both sitting against Rockies’ left-hander Kyle Freeland on Sunday.

Gavin Sheets had a solo homer in the fifth and a walkoff three-run blast in the ninth to power the Padres past the Rockies 5-2 on Friday.

Four innings after homering off Tomoyuki Sugano for the first run of the game, Sheets, the Padres’ first baseman against right-handers, won it off Juan Mejia in a tie game in the bottom of the ninth. He had been homerless in 12 games to start the year, but he’s gone 4-for-9 against the Rockies the last two days to raise his OPS from .553 to .785.
