Giancarlo Stanton (elbows) took live batting practice on Tuesday.
It was another big step in his return from injuries to both elbows. The 35-year-old slugger is scheduled to remain behind in New York and continue workouts during the team’s upcoming West Coast trip. If he continues to feel good after his live batting practice sessions, then we could see him begin a rehab assignment soon. With Ben Rice and Trent Grisham playing well, it would be foolish to assume that Stanton returns to a full-time spot in the Yankees’ lineup, especially given his injury history. He may start on the short side of a platoon and then progress from there, depending on his results.

Yankees transferred GIancarlo Stanton to the 60-day injured list.
Stanton’s move to the 60-day IL clears room for Bryan De La Cruz after De La Cruz was claimed off waivers from Atlanta. Stanton’s timeline remains unclear, but the slugger is attempting to work his way back to the field without undergoing surgery on his elbows.

Giancarlo Stanton (elbows) took on-field batting average on Tuesday at Progressive Field.
It’s a positive sign that Stanton has progressed to taking on-field batting practice, but it’s unclear whether there’s any sort of updated timetable for his potential return. The 35-year-old veteran slugger has been on the shelf since spring training recovering from ongoing issues with both of his elbows. There figures to be some clarity on his status at some point in the coming days.

Giancarlo Stanton (elbows) continues to hit off a high-velocity pitching machine.
It remains unclear how much progress Stanton is making towards potentially returning to New York’s lineup at some point later this season. Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters that he’s starting to move around a bit more outside, for whatever that’s worth. The 35-year-old veteran has been dealing with ongoing issues in both of his elbows and remains out indefinitely for now.

Yankees placed DH/OF Giancarlo Stanton on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to March 24, with right and left elbow epicondylitis.
Stanton remains shut down completely from baseball activities and it’s unclear whether he’ll return at all this year. The 35-year-old slugger has already received three rounds of PRP injections in an effort to address ongoing issues in both of his elbows. Fantasy managers should anticipate a lengthy absence here.

Giancarlo Stanton (elbows) remains shut down from baseball activities.
Yankees general manager Brian Cashman told reporters it’s “too early to tell” if three rounds of PRP injections have led to improvement with Stanton’s elbows. The 35-year-old has been completely shut down from baseball activities and remains without a clear return timetable.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Monday that Giancarlo Stanton (elbows) is “doing more” in his rehab.
Boone wouldn’t provide specifics, which isn’t frustrating at all. Stanton has injuries to both elbows that are considered “severe” and has said that if he does need to undergo an operation, it would be season-ending. The Yankees are hopeful he can rehab his way back into the lineup, but fantasy managers cannot count on him being a producer in 2025.

Giancarlo Stanton told reporters Saturday that both elbow injuries are considered “severe.”
Stanton noted that the injuries occurred from “bat adjustments” that he made last season. He isn’t sure when he’ll be able to resume baseball activities, and also noted that he if were to undergo surgery, the procedure would be considered season-ending. Stanton likely will continue to try and rehab, but there’s a very good chance his 2025 season will either be short or non-existent.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Giancarlo Stanton (elbows) “is getting a second round of PRP injections” on Thursday.
Stanton is dealing with tennis elbow in both elbows and is currently trying to suppress the pain and inflammation. The plan is for him to get this round of injections and go back to Tampa to continue his rehab with the team. There is no set timeline for his recovery, and Cashman mentioned that surgery is “a last resort,” which implies that a surgical fix has at least been discussed. Given his age and lengthy injury history, it’s hard to draft Stanton in any format right now, and this opens up a spot in the lineup for Ben Rice or perhaps Trent Grisham if the Yankees want to improve their defense and use Aaron Judge or Jasson Dominguez as their DH.

Giancarlo Stanton will open the season on the injured list after receiving PRP injections in both elbows.
No surprise here. The Yankees announced that Stanton remains away from the team due to a personal matter, but he’s expected to return to spring training next week. There is no official timetable for the 35-year-old’s return as he continues to receive treatment to address a lingering issue with both elbows that has kept him on the shelf this spring. There should be some clarity on his status in the coming weeks, but Stanton can be safely ignored for fantasy purposes outside of extremely deep mixed leagues and AL-only formats.
