Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Giancarlo Stanton (elbows) “is getting a second round of PRP injections” on Thursday.
Stanton is dealing with tennis elbow in both elbows and is currently trying to suppress the pain and inflammation. The plan is for him to get this round of injections and go back to Tampa to continue his rehab with the team. There is no set timeline for his recovery, and Cashman mentioned that surgery is “a last resort,” which implies that a surgical fix has at least been discussed. Given his age and lengthy injury history, it’s hard to draft Stanton in any format right now, and this opens up a spot in the lineup for Ben Rice or perhaps Trent Grisham if the Yankees want to improve their defense and use Aaron Judge or Jasson Dominguez as their DH.

Giancarlo Stanton will open the season on the injured list after receiving PRP injections in both elbows.
No surprise here. The Yankees announced that Stanton remains away from the team due to a personal matter, but he’s expected to return to spring training next week. There is no official timetable for the 35-year-old’s return as he continues to receive treatment to address a lingering issue with both elbows that has kept him on the shelf this spring. There should be some clarity on his status in the coming weeks, but Stanton can be safely ignored for fantasy purposes outside of extremely deep mixed leagues and AL-only formats.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said he was unsure when Giancarlo Stanton (elbows) would be able to rejoin the Yankees in camp.
“Hopefully soon,” Boone said. Stanton is undergoing testing on both elbows. It’s late enough in camp that even if the slugger checks out fine, he may need to begin the season on the injured list — assuming the return doesn’t come in the next few days, that is. Stanton has struggled to stay healthy as a member of the Yankees, and unfortunately that likely will remain the case in 2025.

Giancarlo Stanton has travelled to New York to undergo more tests on his elbows.
Stanton has been unable to resume baseball activities as he deals with pain in both of his elbows. The 35-year-old is in danger of missing the start of the season, and unfortunately injuries have been a large part of his history since joining the Yankees. Fantasy players considering Stanton obviously need to pay close attention to the imaging results.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Wednesday that he’s not sure when Giancarlo Stanton (elbows) will resume baseball activities.
Not great. There hasn’t been a ton of clarity regarding an official diagnosis from the Yankees besides Stanton telling reporters that he’s dealing with a high degree of pain in both of his elbows. The 35-year-old has been plagued by physical issues throughout his career, but the fact that he hasn’t been able to swing a bat in nearly a month isn’t encouraging, especially with Opening Day on the horizon. There should be a clearer timeline from the Yankees at some point soon, but it wouldn’t be shocking if Stanton required a season-opening trip to the injured list.

Giancarlo Stanton said he’s dealing with a high level of pain in both elbows and is unsure if he’ll be ready for opening day.
Aaron Boone revealed yesterday that Stanton was dealing with something close to “tennis elbow,” so this is added detail. Stanton said he hasn’t swung a bat in 3-4 weeks as he battles through the injury. “Tennis elbow or whatever they call it, [there are] tears in your tendon,” Stanton said. “So [if you ask] when did it feel good, when did it feel bad, there’s always a pain level there. You’ve got to deal with that.” Stanton has always been a major injury risk, but playing with tears in both elbows could sap some of his power, which is really his only fantasy trait. It’s best to avoid him in drafts, but this could open up a chance for Ben Rice to earn at-bats early in the season if Stanton starts the year on the IL.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters that Giancarlo Stanton is currently behind schedule due to elbow soreness.
Stanton was outstanding in the postseason, but the 35-year-old slugger has dealt with a plethora of injuries over the last few seasons, and it appears this will keep him out of action to begin the Grapefruit League. Asked about if Stanton would be ready for the start of the season, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said: “I don’t know. We’ll see. It’s tough to say ... I’m not going to put any timeline on it. We’re just going to be smart with it and kind of listen to it a little bit.” It’s definitely a situation to monitor for those considering Stanton for their fantasy roster.

Giancarlo Stanton is hitting fifth as the designated hitter against the Dodgers in Game 5 of the World Series on Wednesday.
The Yankees split up Aaron Judge and Stanton with Jazz Chisholm Jr. hitting cleanup in Game 4, and it worked so well they’ll do it again. The full lineup against Jack Flaherty: 2B Gleyber Torres, LF Juan Soto, CF Judge, 3B Chisholm Jr., DH Stanton, 1B Anthony Rizzo, SS Anthony Volpe, C Austin Wells and LF Alex Verdugo.
John Smoltz unpacks the mental toughness it took for the New York Yankees to force a Game 5 in the World Series, and why the narrative on Aaron Judge needing a big time performance is difficult.

Giancarlo Stanton hit a two-run homer in a loss to the Dodgers on Friday in Game 1 of the World Series.
There is no one hotter on the planet than Giancarlo Stanton right now. The 6-foot-6 slugger golfed a homer on the inner-half of the plate out to left field with an exit velocity over 116 mph off Jack Flaherty to give the Yankees a 2-1 lead. It’s the fourth consecutive game that Stanton has homered in the playoffs, the sixth of the postseason and the 17th of Stanton’s career.

Giancarlo Stanton hit a two-run homer to help the Yankees to a win over the Guardians on Saturday in Game 5 of the ALCS in extra innings.
With the Yankees trailing 2-0, Stanton hit a two-run homer into left-center that traveled an estimated 446 feet and was measured slightly above 117 mph in exit velocity. To say he’s hot is an understatement. Stanton has homered five times in nine games, and he’ll be hitting in the middle of the order for the World Series beginning Friday either against the Dodgers or Mets.
