Jack Flaherty pitched decently in a no-decision against the Mariners on Sunday afternoon, allowing three runs on six hits over his five-plus innings of work.
The right-hander punched out seven hitters on the day while issuing only one base on balls. The Mariners scratched out a run against him in the third inning, then Flaherty allowed the first three hitters to reach in the sixth, including an RBI double by Josh Naylor, before turning the ball over to the bullpen. He got 15 swings and misses on 87 pitches on the afternoon, registering a CSW of 32 percent. He’ll bring a 5.31 ERA and 1.58 WHIP into Friday’s showdown against the Guardians in Cleveland.

Jack Flaherty tossed five scoreless innings and got the win in the Tigers’ 8-0 victory over the Rays on Tuesday.
Flaherty gave up five hits, walked two and struck out six. The win was his first of the season as he improved to 1-7. Flaherty retired the side in order in the first inning before pitching out of jams in the second, third and fourth innings. While the 30-year-old right-hander has a 4.50 ERA in 20 innings over his last four starts, his 26/3 K/BB has been impressive. Flaherty may have turned a corner in his season after a disastrous start. He’s back on the fantasy radar in mixed leagues for his next start against the Twins next week.

Jack Flaherty surrendered three runs in 5 2/3 innings Thursday in a loss to the Angels.
Flaherty fanned nine today with his velocity up about one mph, but the Angels got to him for four hits in a three-run fifth inning and that was enough to drop him to 0-7 on the year. Flaherty entered lastyear with a career winning percentage of .573, having gone 55-41 over eight seasons. Since then, he’s 8-22, knocking him down to .500. He’ll take a 5.81 ERA into his next start against the Rays.

Jack Flaherty was knocked around during Friday night’s loss to the Orioles, giving up six runs (three earned) on eight hits in just 3 1/3 innings of work.
On the plus side for fantasy managers, Flaherty managed to rack up seven strikeouts in the ballgame and didn’t allow a base on balls. He gave up three unearned runs in the third inning as Pete Alonso clubbed a three-run homer after an error had extended the inning. The O’s got to him for three more while chasing him in the fourth including a two-run shot from Jackson Holliday. Still winless on the season, Flaherty will carry a miserable 5.94 ERA and 1.66 WHIP into Thursday’s tilt against the Angels.

Jack Flaherty remains winless on the year after surrendering four runs on five hits over six innings pitched on Sunday against the Blue Jays.
Flaherty entered Sunday with one of the 10 lowest strike rates among 170+ starting pitchers with at least 10 innings pitched. That explains his 5.77 ERA, with indicators that don’t hint at any positive regression unless he simply begins pitching better. The 30-year-old exercised a player option in his contract to remain with the Tigers this past offseason, but he’s in the final year of the deal. He’ll visit his former team in Baltimore for his next scheduled start.

Jack Flaherty allowed three runs in 3 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Mets on Tuesday.
Flaherty gave up six hits, walked three and struck out two. He fell to 0-4 with the loss. Whatever magic Flaherty had in 2024 when he was a worthwhile contributor to both the Tigers and Dodgers is gone. His ERA went from 3.17 to 4.64 in 2025 and now it’s 5.73. He’s walked 29 batters in 37 2/3 innings and been too hittable when he does throw it over the plate. Flaherty’s lined up to face the Blue Jays on Sunday, but can’t be trusted in fantasy leagues at the moment.

Jack Flaherty struck out 10 while allowing four runs — two earned — in five innings Wednesday in a loss to the Red Sox.
The two runs in the fourth were unearned because of a Colt Keith error. The two runs in the third could have been unearned, too, but no error was given to Spencer Torkelson for botching a foul popup prior to Caleb Durbin’s RBI double. Flaherty wound up dropping to 0-3 with a 5.56 ERA tonight, but it was probably his best performance of the season. He allowed three hits and walked one. The 10-strikeout game was his first since Aug. 2024 and 14th overall. He’ll face the Mets next.

Jack Flaherty delivered another shaky start in a no-decision against the Rangers on Friday, surrendering four runs on five hits and three walks in just 3 2/3 innings of work.
Sigh. Flaherty struck out four batters in the ballgame. He had allowed just one run through the first two innings, but the wheels fell off for him completely in the third after Danny Jansen clubbed a leadoff homer. Flaherty then walked the next three hitters before allowing an RBI single and a sacrifice fly. He threw just 55 of his 91 pitches for strikes in the contest, getting nine whiffs and posting a CSW of 31 percent. He’ll carry a miserable 5.90 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and a 32/25 K/BB ratio (29 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Red Sox. If the Tigers had enough healthy alternative options, Flaherty’s spot in the rotation could be in serious jeopardy.

Jack Flaherty was charged for six runs over two innings in a loss to the Reds on Saturday.
Flaherty struck out four while allowing five hits and issuing two walks. That’d be a decent afternoon if he went more than two innings. He did not, and three of those hits went over the fence in another disappointing start for the 30-year-old. He threw more strikes than his six-walk disaster against the Red Sox on Monday, and that’s about the only positive you can take from the contest. Flaherty will try and bounce back against the Rangers on Friday in Detroit.

Jack Flaherty allowed two runs (none earned) on three hits in 3 1/3 innings while walking six and striking out three against the Red Sox on Monday.
The two earned runs scored on Flaherty’s own error when he fielded a bunt attempt and had Caleb Durbin dead to rights between third base and home plate before throwing the ball away. Flaherty struggled with command all day, throwing just 56 percent of his pitches for strikes. He was also down two mph on almost all of his pitches. He did produce a 37 percent whiff rate, and some of the command and velocity issues could be connected to the 11 AM start as part of Marathon Monday. The 30-year-old has 20 walks in 23 innings this season and is not a recommended start next week in Cincinnati.
