Gonzalez

Gonzalez was a second-round pick of the Giants back in 2017 and has yet to reach the majors. The 25-year-old infielder spent the last two seasons in the Pirates’ minor league system. He’s merely extra organizational depth at this juncture.

A second-round selection in the 2017 MLB Draft out of an Arizona high school, Gonzalez slashed .253/.320/.404 with eight home runs and two stolen bases in 75 games this past summer between rookie ball and High-A Eugene. The 23-year-old may have an easier path to the majors in Pittsburgh than he would have in San Francisco.
