Jakob Marsee is patrolling center field and leading off Saturday’s Grapefruit League opener against the Mets.
Marsee hasn’t generated a ton of fantasy hype this offseason despite hitting .292/.363/.478 with five homers and 14 steals in a 55-game big-league debut late last year. The 24-year-old speedster doesn’t strike out a ton and boasts the on-base ability required to occupy the leadoff spot long-term. He’s come off the board right around 150th overall in NFBC drafts since the start of February, which makes him a top-30 range fantasy outfielder with 15-homer, 30-steal upside. Here is the full lineup: Marsee (CF), Agustín Ramírez (C), Christopher Morel (1B), Griffin Conine (RF), Connor Norby (3B), Heriberto Hernández (LF), Javier Sanoja (2B), Maximo Acosta (SS) and Ryan Ignoffo (DH).

Pete Crow-Armstrong claimed his first Gold Glove in balloting results announced Sunday.
Crow-Armstong (center field), Ian Happ (left field) and Nico Hoerner (second base) made it three Gold Glove winners for the Cubs. Also chosen were Logan Webb (pitcher), Patrick Bailey (catcher), Matt Olson (first base), Ke’Bryan Hayes (third base), Masyn Winn (shortstop), Fernando Tatis Jr. (right field) and Javier Sanoja (utilityman). Those seem like all of the right choices for the most part, though we’re once again seeing there’s just no reason for there to be a utilityman Gold Glove handed out every year.
  • MIA Shortstop #9
Xavier Edwards (wrist) remains out of the lineup for the fourth consecutive contest on Wednesday against the Rockies.
Javier Sanoja draws another start at the keystone as Edwards continues to sit with right wrist discomfort. It’s an encouraging sign that the 26-year-old speedster hasn’t been placed on the injured list yet, which means he has a shot at returning sometime later this week. There should be an update on his status prior to Thursday’s series finale.
  • MIA Shortstop #46
Javier Sanoja went 2-for-4 with a double, one run scored, and one RBI in Miami’s 6-5 win over the Rockies on Tuesday.
Sanoja got the start at second base with a left-hander on the mound for the Rockies. He knocked a base hit and scored a run in the third inning, then doubled in a run in the sixth inning to extend the Marlins’ lead. The 23-year-old is hitting .236/.282/.380 with five homers, 35 RBI, and five steals across 320 plate appearances.

Xavier Edwards (wrist) remains out of the lineup for the third straight game on Tuesday against the Rockies.
It’s a tough break for fantasy managers hoping to have the speedy Edwards back for the start of a three-game series at high-octane Coors Field. The 26-year-old infielder has been out since last weekend dealing with right wrist discomfort. It’ll be Javier Sanoja taking over at the keystone in his absence.
  • MIA 2nd Baseman #6
Otto Lopez is not in the Marlins’ starting lineup for Thursday night’s tilt against the Nationals.
It looks to be nothing more than a routine night off for the 26-year-old infielder. Maximo Acosta will slide over and cover shortstop while Javier Sanoja will draw a start at the hot corner and will bat ninth against Nationals’ southpaw MacKenzie Gore.
  • MIA 2nd Baseman #1
Connor Norby (hand) went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI for Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.
Norby began a rehab assignment on Monday and has gone 8-for-18 with three home runs and five RBI in six games. The Marlins could activate him as soon as Monday, which could end Javier Sanoja’s time as an everyday player, but could also cut into Troy Johnston’s playing time if Miami moves Sanoja back to the outfield.
  • MIA Shortstop #46
Javier Sanoja went 3-for-5 with a double, one run scored, and three RBI against the Blue Jays on Saturday.
All three of Sanoja’s hits came late in the game, starting with a clutch double in the seventh to drive in a run. He then brought the game-tying run home in the bottom of the ninth with a single before plating a run in the 11th with his third hit. The 22-year-old outfielder is hitting .246/.291/.393 with five homers, 33 runs scored, and 28 RBI across 269 plate appearances.
  • MIA Shortstop #46
Javier Sanoja went 2-for-4 and slugged his fifth home run of the season as the Marlins fell to the Blue Jays on Friday evening in Miami.
Sanoja was the only member of the Marlins’ offense to do anything off of Blue Jays’ right-hander Shane Bieber in this one. He battled the veteran hurler for 10 pitches in the second inning, ultimately crushing a fastball for a 397-foot (100.3 mph EV) solo shot that pulled the Marlins to within two runs at 3-1. That would be as close as they would get. The 22-year-old also singled off of Yariel Rodriguez in the seventh inning. With his two-hit attack, Sanoja is now hitting .238/.285/.385 with five homers, 25 RBI and three stolen bases on the season.
  • MIA 2nd Baseman #1
Connor Norby is out of the lineup for the Marlins on Friday with left hand soreness.
Norby injured the hand in his final plate appearance of the night during Friday’s game. Consider the 25-year-old day-to-day for now. Javier Sanoja will get the start at third with Norby out to begin the contest.
