  • MIA Third Baseman #41
Marlins optioned Jonah Bride to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Bride will head back to Triple-A with Jake Burger (oblique) back from the injured list. He’ll likely be back as a bench option at some point before 2024 comes to a conclusion.
  • MIA Third Baseman #41
Marlins recalled INF Jonah Bride from Triple-A Jacksonville.
Bride is up to take the roster spot of Luis Arraez after Arraez was traded to the Padres. Bride went 1-for-7 in his limited action with Miami earlier in the year, and he likely will only be a bench option while with the Marlins in this chance.
  • MIA Third Baseman #41
Marlins optioned Jonah Bride to Triple-A Jacksonville.
The 28-year-old went 1-for-7 with two strikeouts and a walk in his five games with the Marlins this season. He’ll head back to Triple-A and serve as a depth piece for the Marlins if they suffer any more injuries.
  • MIA Third Baseman #41
Marlins recalled INF Jonah Bride from Triple-A Jacksonville.
Bride winds up getting a spot on Miami’s season-opening roster with Xavier Edwards on the injured list and versatile reserve Jon Berti being shipped to the Yankees.
  • MIA First Baseman #26
Marlins reassigned RHP Matt Andriese, RHP Luarbert Arias, RHP Kyle Tyler, and C Paul McIntosh to Minor League camp and optioned RHP Roddery Muñoz, INF Jacob Amaya, INF Jonah Bride, and OF Victor Mesa Jr to Triple-A Jacksonville.
None of the players were a real threat to break camp with the team, but Bride has been solid in his first spring after coming over from Oakland. He’s slashing .263/.364/.421 with one home runs and six runs scored in 12 games. Amaya came to Miami as part of the Miguel Rojas trade last year and posted a fine season at Triple-A in 2023 but with Tim Anderson now in town, the 25-year-old is running out of time to claim a role in the Marlins’ infield.
  • MIA First Baseman #26
Jonah Bride homered Tuesday in the Marlins’ 2-0 shutout of the Astros.
That Bride has options remaining and Vidal Bruján and Nick Gordon don’t will make it tough for Bride to claim a spot on Miami’s bench. Bride, though, has made a nice first impression since coming over from Oakland, going 5-for-13 with a homer and two walks. Perhaps there’s the chance the Marlins will decide they don’t need Bruján and give either Bride or Trey Mancini a shot as a righty bench bat.
  • MIA First Baseman #26
Marlins acquired INF Jonah Bride from the Athletics for cash considerations.
The A’s had designated Bride for assignment on Friday, so the Marlins took advantage of the situation and were able to pick up some infield depth. He has struggled badly at the plate during his time in the big leagues, but Bride slashed an awfully impressive .305/.432/.544 with 13 homers, 54 RBI and a 49/56 K/BB ratio over 323 plate appearances at Triple-A Las Vegas in 2023. He’ll compete for a bench spot on the Marlins’ Opening Day roster.
  • OAK First Baseman #26
According to Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase, the Marlins have reached an agreement to acquire Jonah Bride from the Athletics.
Presumably the deal will be for cash considerations or a low level prospect, as the A’s designated Bride for assignment on Friday. The 28-year-old has flailed to a miserable .192/.296/.232 slash line with just one home run and one stolen base over 293 plate appearances at the big league level over the past two seasons. He’ll add depth for the Marlins.
  • OAK First Baseman #26
Athletics designated INF Jonah Bride for assignment.
Bride has struggled to a .192/.296/.232 triple-slash line with one homer and one steal in 293 plate appearances over the last two years at the big league level. At 28 years old, he’s pretty much a finished product and it’s unlikely another organization will roll the dice.
  • OAK First Baseman #26
Athletics optioned INF Jonah Bride to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Lawrence Butler, back from paternity leave, will take his spot on the active roster. Bride, 27, has hit just .171/.286/.205 over 106 plate appearances in the majors this season.
