Angels signed OF Jose Siri to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
After a pair of productive seasons with the Rays, Siri had a rough 2025 campaign with the Mets, slashing .063/.167/.125 with zero homers, one RBI and a 17/4 K/BB ratio in 36 plate appearances and missing several months with a fractured tibia. If he finds his way into regular playing time with the Angels, his intriguing blend of power and speed makes him an interesting late-round option from a fantasy perspective.

Guardians RHP Triston McKenzie elected free agency.
McKenzie headlines a group of 19 players who elected minor league free agency earlier this week, including catcher Matt Thaiss; infielders Scott Kingery, Keston Hiura, Sergio Alcántara, Terrin Vavra and Vimael Machín; outfielders Jose Siri, Connor Joe and Jordyn Adams; and relievers Noah Davis, Scott Blewett, Brooks Kriske, Kevin Herget, Cionel Pérez, Darren McCaughan, Richard Lovelady, José Ruiz and Jordan Weems.

Mets sent OF Jose Siri outright to Triple-A Syracuse.
Siri passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment earlier this week and figures to elect free agency. The 30-year-old, who missed nearly five months this season recovering from a mid-April fractured tibia in his left leg, batted .063 (2-for-32) with one RBI and two steals in 16 games.

Mets designated OF Jose Siri for assignment.
The move qualifies as a bit of a surprise given New York’s proximity to the playoffs, but it doesn’t come as a complete stunner since there was going to be a roster crunch with Tyrone Taylor returning from the injured list. The 30-year-old outfielder made it back from the injured list earlier this month after missing nearly five months with a fractured tibia in his left leg. It’ll be Taylor and Cedric Mullins patrolling center field for the Mets down the home stretch.

Cedric Mullins is not in the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Phillies.
Mullins takes a seat for the second straight contest with Jose Siri — who was activated from the injured list after missing nearly five months with a fractured leg — getting the nod to face tough left-hander Cristopher Sánchez in this one. The 30-year-old figures to cede playing time to Siri, especially against southpaws, over the final two-plus weeks.

Mets activated OF Jose Siri from the 60-day injured list.
Siri, down since mid-April with a fractured tibia, will probably get some starts in center against left-handers for now. It remains to be seen if he’ll stick on the roster after Tyrone Taylor returns. Siri was 1-for-20 in 10 games before getting hurt. He just went 4-for-20 with one homer and a 10/0 K/BB in five games for Triple-A Syracuse on his rehab assignment.

Jose Siri (leg) will begin a minor league rehab assignment next week.
Siri has been out since early April recovering from a fractured tibia in his left leg. The 30-year-old outfielder figures to be ready to return to New York once rosters expand at the outset of September.

Mets transferred OF Jose Siri to the 60-day injured list.
Siri has already missed 60 days, so this changes nothing for him. Originally expected to miss 8-10 weeks with a fractured tibia suffered April 12, Siri experienced a setback earlier this month, leaving him with no current timetable for his return.
  • NYM Center Fielder #19
Jose Siri (leg) has been shut down from his recovery from a fractured left tibia after suffering a setback.
Recent testing revealed that his fractured tibia hadn’t healed quite as well as anticipated, so the Mets will back off of his rehab to give him some more time to recover. He will be shut down from baseball activities for at least a couple of weeks before undergoing additional imaging to see how it has progressed. At this stage, there’s no clear timeline for when he may be able to rejoin the Mets.
  • NYM Center Fielder #19
Jose Siri, out since mid-April with a fractured tibia, is slated to face live pitching on Thursday.
Siri is running in straight lines, but he’s not yet doing so laterally. He might be able to come off the IL in mid-June if he avoids any setbacks.
