Jose Siri (leg) has been shut down from his recovery from a fractured left tibia after suffering a setback.
Recent testing revealed that his fractured tibia hadn’t healed quite as well as anticipated, so the Mets will back off of his rehab to give him some more time to recover. He will be shut down from baseball activities for at least a couple of weeks before undergoing additional imaging to see how it has progressed. At this stage, there’s no clear timeline for when he may be able to rejoin the Mets.
  • NYM Center Fielder #19
Jose Siri, out since mid-April with a fractured tibia, is slated to face live pitching on Thursday.
Siri is running in straight lines, but he’s not yet doing so laterally. He might be able to come off the IL in mid-June if he avoids any setbacks.
  • NYM Center Fielder #19
Jose Siri is expected to miss 8-10 weeks with a left tibia fracture.
Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns laid out the updated timetable, which puts Siri on the shelf until at least mid-to-late June. It’ll be Tyrone Taylor continuing to handle center field for the time being.
  • NYM Center Fielder #19
Mets placed OF Jose Siri on the 10-day injured list with a left tibia fracture.
Siri will miss at least a week-plus, but this will likely be a longer IL stint for the 29-year-old. The Mets will have Jose Azocar join the roster as a bench option while Siri recovers.
  • NYM Center Fielder #19
Jose Siri (tibia) is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Rangers.
It’s worth noting that the Mets haven’t made an official roster move yet to replace Siri, who is facing a lengthy absence after being diagnosed with a fractured tibia.
  • NYM Center Fielder #19
Jose Siri has been diagnosed with a fractured left tibia and will be placed on the injured list.
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said late Monday that Siri underwent an MRI and CT scan that revealed the fracture. The 29-year-old center fielder suffered the injury during Saturday’s game against the Athletics when he fouled a ball hard off his left shin. He’s going to wind up missing several months, even in a best-case scenario. It’ll be Tyrone Taylor getting the bulk of the playing time in center field in his absence for now.
  • NYM Center Fielder #19
Jose Siri (shin) remains out of the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Twins.
Siri is probably going to need a few additional days, and could wind up requiring a trip to the injured list, after suffering a painful left shin contusion during Saturday’s showdown against the Athletics. The 29-year-old is undergoing an MRI and CT scan on Monday night to determine whether he’ll need an injured list stint. It’ll be Tyrone Taylor continuing to patrol center field in his absence.

Jose Siri (shin) is absent from the lineup for Sunday’s showdown against the Athletics.
No surprise here after Siri left Saturday’s game against the Athletics with a left shin contusion. X-rays came back negative for any fractures, but he’s going to need some time off to rest and recover. It’ll be Tyrone Taylor patrolling center field during Sunday’s series finale in Sacramento.

Jose Siri was removed from Saturday’s game against the Athletics with a left shin contusion.
Siri is day-to-day, according to a team statement. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza confirmed afterwards that precautionary X-rays came back negative after the center fielder fouled a ball off his lower left leg during the early stages of Saturday’s contest in Sacramento. It’s an encouraging initial diagnosis and there’s a strong chance he’ll avoid a trip to the injured list.
  • NYM Center Fielder #19
Jose Siri left Saturday’s game against the Athletics after fouling a ball off his lower left leg.
Siri remained on the ground for several minutes before limping off the field. He’ll presumably head for precautionary X-rays to rule out any fractures. There should be an update on his status shortly. His absence would be problematic for New York since he’s been one of their primary center field options along with Tyrone Taylor.
