Red Sox optioned LHP Jovani Morán to Triple-A Worcester.
With Justin Slaten returning from the injured list, the Red Sox will send Morán back to Triple-A. They have more than enough left-handers to cover in his absence.

Red Sox recalled LHP Jovani Morán from Triple-A Worcester.
Moran allowed three runs in four innings for the Red Sox earlier this month. The team is able to recall him now, after just eight days in the minors, because Richard Fitts went on the injured list.

Red Sox optioned LHP Jovan Morán to Triple-A Worcester.
Morán has been shipped back to the minors after allowing two runs over two innings on Monday against the Orioles, leaving him with a subpar 6.75 ERA across four innings of work (two appearances). It’ll be fellow lefty Brennan Bernardino returning to the big leagues to take his spot in Boston’s bullpen.

Red Sox selected the contract of LHP Jovani Morán from Triple-A Worcester.
It’ll be the Red Sox debut for Morán, who missed last year after Tommy John surgery. He had a 4.15 ERA and a 112/52 K/BB in 91 innings out of the Twins pen from 2021-23. He was sporting a 3.44 ERA and a 26/3 K/BB in 18 1/3 innings for Worcester.

The Red Sox are set to call up reliever Jovani Moran from Triple-A, according to MassLive.com’s Chris Cotillo.
Nick Burdi is being DFA’d to open up a spot on the 40-man. It’s unclear who is getting taken off the active roster, but Isaiah Campbell might be the choice after throwing 23 pitches on Sunday.

Jovani Morani threw a scoreless inning as an opener at Triple-A Worcester on Sunday.
Morani was acquired by the Red Sox in the off-season while he was working his way back from Tommy John surgery. He completed his rehab assignment and was assigned to Triple-A Worcester, where he has allowed one run on two hits in 2 1/3 innings while striking out three and walking one. With Brennan Bernardino struggling of late, Morani could get a shot in the Boston bullpen soon.

Jovani Moran, on the way back from Tommy John surgery, has joined Triple-A Worcester following a rehab assignment.
Moran had a 4.70 ERA and a 17/5 K/BB in 7 2/3 innings between Rookie and High-A ball on his rehab assignment. He could be a factor for the Red Sox in the second half if his control proves passable. The 28-year-old left-hander had a 4.15 ERA and a 112/52 K/BB in 91 innings for the Twins from 2021-23.

Red Sox acquired LHP Jovani Moran from the Twins for C/INF Mickey Gasper.
The Christmas Eve blockbuster fantasy managers have been waiting on. Moran missed all of last year recovering from Tommy John surgery after making a career-high 43 relief appearances for the Twins during the 2023 campaign, finishing with an inflated 5.31 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 48/27 K/BB ratio across 42 1/3 innings. The 27-year-old southpaw has made 79 relief appearances in the big leagues since 2021, registering a serviceable 4.15 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 112/52 K/BB ratio across 91 innings. He’ll augment Boston’s left-handed relief depth heading into next season.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #68
Twins reassigned RHPs Randy Dobnak, Ronny Henriquez and Ryan Jensen, LHP Jovani Moran, 1B Aaron Sabato, OF DaShawn Keirsey and Cs Alex Isola and Pat Winkel to minor league camp.
All eight were in Twins camp this spring as non-roster invitees. Of the group, Dobnak and Moran, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery, are the most high-profile names. Henriquez and Jensen figure to pitch in relief for Minnesota if they get back to the majors.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #71
Twins re-signed LHP Jovani Moran to a minor league contract.
It’s presumably a two-year minor league deal for Moran, who will be sidelined until at least 2025 after undergoing Tommy John surgery. The 26-year-old southpaw made a career-high 43 relief appearances this past season in the big leagues, finishing with an inflated 5.31 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 48/27 K/BB ratio across 42 1/3 innings.
