Red Sox reinstated RHP Justin Slaten (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list.
What a huge boost for the Red Sox bullpen. Slaten has been out since May 29 with a nerve issue in his neck and inflammation in his shoulder. He has looked good during his rehab assignment and should go right back into high-leverage innings along with Aroldis Chapman and Garrett Whitlock.

Justin Slaten (shoulder) threw a scoreless inning for Triple-A Worcester on Sunday.
Slaten has now thrown three scoreless innings in Triple-A as he rehabs from a nerve-related issue in his neck that led to shoulder inflammation. He has allowed just one hit and an unearned run while striking out five in those three games and seems primed to return to high-leverage innings alongside Garrett Whitlock and Aroldis Chapman as early as Monday.

Red Sox’ manager Alex Cora said Thursday that Justin Slaten (shoulder) will make two more appearances on his minor league rehab assignment before joining the team’s bullpen.
The 27-year-old hurler will pitch again at Triple-A Worcester on Friday and will do so again on Sunday. If all goes well with those two outings, he’ll be cleared to return to the Red Sox’ bullpen to start next week. Slaten has been sidelined since the start of June due to inflammation in his shoulder.

Richard Fitts will be recalled to pitch Thursday against the Yankees.
It will not be Justin Slaten who takes the roster spot of Isaiah Campbell as expected, but instead it will be Fitts for that contest. The 25-year-old has pitched decently at times for Boston, but fantasy managers should probably look elsewhere for a streamer Thursday.

Red Sox optioned RHP Isaiah Campbell to Triple-A Worcester.
Campbell’s ERA has ballooned to 7.03 after he allowed three earned runs in 2/3 of an inning Sunday against the Marlins. The right-hander heads to Triple-A, and all signs point to Justin Slaten being recalled before Thursday’s game versus the Yankees.

Justin Slaten struck out all three batters he faced in his rehab appearance for Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday.
Slaten might get one more minor league outing, but he’s close to rejoining the Red Sox pen. He’s been out since May 29 with shoulder inflammation.

Justin Slaten (shoulder) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Worcester.
Slaten has been on the shelf since early June recovering from a nerve-related issue in his neck that led to shoulder inflammation. The 27-year-old righty figures to rejoin Boston’s relief mix at some point in September.

Justin Slaten (shoulder) is scheduled to throw another bullpen session on Friday.
Slaten was a key component of Boston’s relief mix last year as a Rule 5 pickup, but he’s been out since early June recovering from a nerve issue in his neck that led to shoulder inflammation. He’s going to be racing the clock to make it back to Fenway Park before the regular season wraps up, but he’s starting to make some real progress.

Justin Slaten (shoulder) threw a bullpen on Saturday.
The Red Sox reliever has been sidelined since June 1st with a shoulder issue. The team recently discovered that the transverse bone was growing into a nerve in his neck, which was causing nerve issues. Now that the issue has been fixed, Slaten is feeling much better, and the team is hopeful that he can return by the end of the month.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters that Justin Slaten (shoulder) has resumed playing catch.
Slaten was pulled off his throwing program a week ago to help rebuild strength, and now is feeling well enough to return to his rehab program. Slaten could be an option for the Red Sox for the final month-plus of 2025.
