Justin Wrobleski fanned five in four perfect innings of relief against the Angels on Tuesday.
Wrobleski had a 39% CSW against Angels backups in finishing off the 3-0 loss tonight. He’ll probably be asked to make a relief appearance of similar length his first time out, most likely after Roki Sasaki exits. He could be a nice source of wins in NL-only leagues while working in long relief.

Emmet Sheehan will start the second game of the season against the Diamondbacks on Friday, according to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.
Sheehan will follow Opening Day starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto with Tyler Glasnow closing out a three-game season-opening series against Arizona. It’ll be Roki Sasaki followed by Shohei Ohtani early next week to kick off a three-game set against the Guardians at Dodger Stadium. There are some reasons for mild concern with Sheehan fantasy-wise after experiencing some diminished velocity this spring but he’s still going to be a viable mixed-league fantasy contributor. It’ll be Justin Wrobleski operating in a piggyback role, most likely with either Sheehan or Sasaki the first time through the rotation.

The Dodgers will open up with a rotation of Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, Roki Sasaki, Emmet Sheehan and Shohei Ohtani, manager Dave Roberts said Sunday night.
Katie Woo of The Athletic reported earlier Sunday that Sheehan might not get a start the first time through, but it’s now confirmed that he will. Justin Wrobleski, who was the alternative to Sheehan, will piggyback off one of the starters. Based on spring performance, Sasaki, who will start the final game of the opening series against the D-backs, would seem to be the most likely choice. Given how much Sasaki struggled in spring, fantasy managers in deeper formats could still roster Wrobleski in case Sasaki’s struggles force him into bulk relief appearances or a starting job. Sheehan and Ohtani will get the Guardians next Monday and Tuesday.

Dodgers optioned RHP River Ryan to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
This one is perplexing. Ryan looked outstanding this spring in his return from Tommy John surgery with a microscopic 1.86 ERA and 12/4 K/BB ratio across 9 2/3 innings in Cactus League action. He seemed like a lock to open the year in the big leagues with Blake Snell (shoulder) starting on the injured list. The 27-year-old top pitching prospect will have to wait on the doorstep of the majors for his next opportunity. Los Angeles is going ahead with Roki Sasaki in their season-opening rotation despite his persistent command issues. Ryan’s departure also signals that Justin Wrobleski will function as a swingman or occasional sixth starter for now.

Justin Wrobleski was knocked around during Saturday’s Cactus League loss to the White Sox, surrendering five runs on four hits over 2 1/3 innings of work.
Wrobleski also issued a pair of walks in the contest while striking out three. He navigated the first inning without any issues, but the White Sox pushed across three runs against him in the second inning and another pair while chasing him in the third. The 25-year-old hurler got eight swings and misses on 68 pitches on the afternoon — five on his fastball — while posting an underwhelming CSW of 19 percent. This outing definitely didn’t help his cause in securing a spot in the Dodgers’ Opening Day rotation. Overall, he sports a 5.40 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and a 7/2 K/BB ratio over 8 1/3 innings on the spring.

Justin Wrobleski shut out the A’s for three innings and struck out three on Sunday.
Wrobleski has pitched six scoreless innings in three appearances. He’ll probably make the Dodgers as a swingman, and it’s possible he’ll prove more trustworthy than Roki Sasaki in the rotation in the long run.

Justin Wrobleski started and pitched two scoreless innings against the Cubs on Saturday.
Wrobleski would seem to be in line to make the Dodgers as a sixth starter/swingman with Blake Snell expected to open up on the injured list. The 25-year-old southpaw had a 4.32 ERA in two starts and 24 relief appearances covering 66 2/3 innings last year, and he might be a streaming option this season if he gets the chance to start.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #66
Tanner Scott has been removed from the Dodgers’ NLDS roster and replaced by Justin Wrobleski.
Scott, who was away from the team last night, underwent a lower body abscess procedure, according to manager Dave Roberts. The roster move means that he’ll be ineligible to return prior to the World Series. Wrobleski will join the pen in his place. He had a 4.32 ERA and a 76/17 K/BB in 66 2/3 innings over two starts and 22 relief appearances this season.

Clayton Kershaw is officially on the Dodgers’ NLDS roster.
As expected, Kershaw finds himself back in Los Angeles’ pitching plans to operate out of the bullpen to combat Philadelphia’s elite left sluggers Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper during the best-of-five series. Southpaw reliever Anthony Banda is also back on the roster as additional left-handed depth with Justin Wrobleski and Edgardo Hernandez left off.

Justin Wrobleski got the final three outs to get a save in the 11th against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
On a night where the Dodgers used seven relievers, Wrobleski was the last one standing and was able to procure his second save of the season. The 25-year-old isn’t likely to see many more save chances in 2025. The word zero comes to mind, in fact.
