Lake Bachar twirled three perfect innings with three strikeouts in a no-decision against the Rays on Saturday.
Possibly stretching out to start, Bachar was literally perfect in one full revolution around the Rays’ order. He mixed five pitches and his fastball held firm around 94 mph. That was his only pitch that induced a swing-and-miss though and still only reaching 49 pitches, it still feels like it’ll be a little while if he can work up to a full starter’s workload.

Lake Bachar tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings and got a no-decision in the Marlins’ 7-3 victory over the Nationals on Tuesday.
Bachar gave up no hits, walked one and struck out three. It was his first appearance as an opener. He still has a 0-0 record in 19 total appearances this year. Bachar had eight wins and three saves last year, but now the Marlins could see him as more of a multi-inning reliever going forward.

Lake Bachar allowed one hit and struck out one batter in his lone inning of work to earn the save on Wednesday over the Astros.
Just when it looked like Calvin Faucher was working his way up to being the Marlins’ preferred closer, he pitched the eighth inning of this game while Bachar took the ninth and nabbed the save. He became the fifth different member of this bullpen to be credited with a save since the All-Star break and was entrusted with the top of the Astros’ order in the ninth inning, dispelling any ideas that Faucher was used earlier for matchup purposes.

Marlins activated RHP Lake Bachar from the paternity list.
Bachar is back from paternity leave after missing three games to be with his family. The 30-year-old righty will be available for Monday’s series opener against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium. He’s emerged as a key cog in Miami’s relief mix this season, recording a strong 3.15 ERA and 48/21 K/BB ratio across 45 2/3 innings (32 appearances).

Luke Bachar tossed a clean ninth inning to record the save against the Brewers on Saturday.
After Calvin Faucher and Ronny Henriquez pitched the seventh and eighth innings, respectively, the Marlins took a two-run lead in the bottom of the eighth. Bachar was then summoned to close out the game against the Brewers. He tossed a clean ninth to convert his first save of the season. Henriquez had recorded the previous three for the team and should continue to be in line for most save chances in Miami. However, it’s been a fluid situation all season.

Marlins recalled RHP Lake Bachar from Triple-A Jacksonville.
The Marlins played with an open spot last night after putting Ryan Weathers on the IL, so Bachar comes up without a countermove today. He had a 4.73 ERA in 26 2/3 innings out of the Marlins pen before being sent down on May 24. He’d since allowed one run and struck out six in three innings in Triple-A.
