Logan Gilbert pitched six innings of one-run ball Tuesday against the Padres.
It wasn’t enough to get Gilbert a win, so he remains 4-4 with a 3.62 ERA, even though the Mariners prevailed in one of his starts for the eighth time this year. Gilbert will face the Orioles again next week, but this time, it will be home in Seattle, improving his chances of recoding a victory.

Logan Gilbert allowed three runs while striking out eight batters over 5 1/3 innings in a win over the Mets on Tuesday.
Gilbert retired the first seven hitters before A.J. Ewing reached with a double in the third inning. Carson Benge followed with a two-run homer to put the Mets on the board. Gilbert tossed two more scoreless frames, then surrendered another homer to Benge, a solo shot in the sixth. He couldn’t get through a full six innings, leaving with one out and two runners on at 99 pitches. He generated an impressive 21 whiffs to strike out eight batters. The 29-year-old right-hander will take a 3.79 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and a 77/17 K/BB ratio across 73 2/3 innings into a start against the Orioles in Baltimore next Monday.

Logan Gilbert blanked the A’s for six innings in Mariners’ 9-1 victory on Wednesday.
Gilbert joined Nathan Eovaldi and teammate Emerson Hancock as the only pitchers so far this season to pitch at least six scoreless innings in a start at Sutter Health Park. No A’s pitcher has done it. Gilbert has pitched scoreless ball in three of his last four starts, though he unfortunately gave up seven runs in his other start during the stretch. He’s 3-4 with a 3.69 ERA and a 69/16 K/BB in 68 1/3 innings, and he’s due to pitch at home against the Mets next time out.

Logan Gilbert allowed two hits and two walks with six strikeouts across 5 2/3 innings to earn the victory in a 2-1 win over the Royals on Friday.
Gilbert washed away the seven-run shellacking he took against the Padres last time out with a nice bounce back start here. He located his fastball well as that pitch lived in the strike zone and was practically never squared up. That set up his secondaries to miss bats low and below the zone. He didn’t command those quite as well though and struggled to put hitters away, which is why his pitch count wound up so high despite so few scoring chances for the Royals. On the season, Gilbert now has 4.04 ERA, 69 strikeouts, and 16 walks over 68 innings. He’s scheduled to face the Athletics in Sacramento next time out.

Logan Gilbert surrendered seven runs in 6 2/3 innings to take a loss to the Padres on Saturday.
Gilbert surrendered three homers in the contest, including a three-run homer in the fourth to Nick Castellanos. The 29-year-old was coming off an outstanding effort against the White Sox, but as has been the case for the most of the year, he followed a strong outing with a disappointing effort. Gilbert offers enormous fantasy upside, but his floor has been awfully low. He’ll try and get back on the good side against the Royals in Kansas City on Friday.

Logan Gilbert took a no-decision on Sunday against the White Sox, striking out nine over six scoreless frames.
Gilbert allowed one hit and didn’t walk anyone, and he now has 52 strikeouts in 44 innings this year. His strikeout rate is down a bit, but Sunday’s performance was a step in the right direction. Seattle’s crowded rotation might transition to a six-man at some point, but Gilbert is lined up for a home matchup against the Padres this week.

Logan Gilbert won despite giving up four solo homers in six innings Monday against the Braves.
Gilbert didn’t allow any runs besides the solo homers, so he became the 149th pitcher in MLB history to win after giving up four homers. The last was the Dodgers’ Tony Gonsolin last May. Three Seattle pitchers had accomplished the feat: Ryan Franklin in 2003, Joel Pineiro in 2005 and Bryce Miller in 2023. Gilbert is now 2-3 with a 4.30 ERA on the season. He’ll likely face the White Sox on Sunday.

Logan Gilbert didn’t factor into the decision after allowing one run over five innings against the Twins on Tuesday.
It’s a solid outing in terms of run-prevention, and he was able to strike out four with just one walk. Once again, however, Gilbert wasn’t able to get deep into the game, as he needed 93 pitches to get through those five frames. The 28-year-old was certainly better than his four-inning effort last week against the A’s, but the expectations for someone who can miss bats like he can are much higher than this. He’ll face Atlanta in Seattle on Monday.

Logan Gilbert was lifted after allowing three runs in four innings Wednesday against the Athletics.
Gilbert gave up two runs in the first, an inning that included a wild single on a line drive comebacker that went right into his jersey, leaving him with a bruised stomach. Gilbert threw 23 pitches that inning and 31 in a one-run third, so he could only make it through four. He settled for three strikeouts even though he had 14 whiffs on 43 swings. It’s his shortest start since Aug. 18 of last season, which was also the last time he finished with so few strikeouts. He’s 1-3 with a 4.36 ERA in spite of a nice 35/7 K/BB in 33 innings, and he’ll face the Twins next.

Logan Gilbert yielded two runs in 5 1/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Rangers.
Gilbert struck out seven and walked one, but he fell to 1-3 because his team can’t hit right now. The Mariners were shut out for the second time in his five starts this season. They totaled one run in his other loss. He’ll face the A’s next week, which should bode well.
