Logan Gilbert took a loss despite allowing just two runs over six innings against the Rangers on Monday.
Gilbert allowed a run-scoring single in the first and an RBI double over the head of Randy Arozarena in the sixth. Outside of that, it was the best Gilbert has looked in 2026, and he struck out five while picking up 13 swings-and-misses while not issuing a walk. That’s more like it. Gilbert will look to keep this going — but with some run support — against the Astros on Sunday in Seattle.

Logan Gilbert surrendered five runs with six strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a loss against the Yankees on Tuesday.
Gilbert recorded two quick outs before the Yankees strung together three straight hits to plate two runs in the opening frame. He settled in to keep New York off the board until running into more trouble in the sixth. Three hits and a walk plated two more runs, knocking Gilbert from the game at 95 pitches. One inherited runner would come in to score, charging Gilbert with five runs on the day. He struck out six on 14 whiffs but threw just 54 strikes. The struggles to complete six frames go back to last season, when he did it just eight times in 25 starts. The 28-year-old right-hander will look to bounce back when he takes on the Rangers in Texas next Monday.

Logan Gilbert allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings Thursday in a no-decision against the Guardians.
Gilbert struck out seven and walked one, but he gave up a Chase DeLauter homer in the first and two runs on three hits in the fifth. The DeLauter homer likely would have been prevented had Gilbert or Cal Raleigh challenged a 2-2 ball in the first, but both opted against it and DeLauter followed with the solo shot. Gilbert is slated to pitch again Tuesday against the Yankees.

George Kirby will start on Friday against the Guardians.
Kirby put together a phenomenal spring, flashing an uptick in velocity, and will get the ball after Logan Gilbert takes his turn on Opening Day at T-Mobile Park. He’ll be followed by Bryan Woo and Emerson Hancock over the weekend before Luis Castillo makes his season debut against the Yankees on Monday.

Mariners’ manager Dan Wilson confirmed on Thursday that Logan Gilbert will start on Opening Day against the Guardians.
The Mariners certainly had options with Bryan Woo also deserving of the honor, but it’ll be Gilbert getting the ball when the Mariners kick off their season at home against the Guardians on Thursday evening.

Logan Gilbert struggled a bit in a losing effort against the Angels in Cactus League play on Saturday, giving up two runs on six hits over his 2 2/3 innings.
Gilbert punched out five batters on the afternoon while issuing a pair of walks. Despite the constant traffic on the basepaths against him, the 28-year-old righty limited the Halos to an RBI single by Logan O’Hoppe in the second and a sacrifice fly from Zach Neto in the fourth. He did get 15 swings and misses on 66 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 27 percent. Even with this rough outing, Gilbert still sports a terrific 2.38 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 12/6 K/BB ratio over 11 1/3 innings through four spring starts. He remains an elite starting pitching option in fantasy drafts.

Logan Gilbert worked four scoreless inning in his second Cactus League outing of the year versus the White Sox on Saturday.
Gilbert scattered two hits and a pair of walks while striking out two. The 28-year-old righty has allowed just one run in his 6 2/3 innings, and while it’s come in meaningless games, it’s a reminder of just how good Gilbert has been over the last two years. There’s no reason to think he can’t be one of the best fantasy starters again in 2026.

Logan Gilbert gave up a run over 2 2/3 innings of work against the Rangers on Sunday.
Gilbert, 28, allowed two hits, and one of those hits was a solo homer by Cameron Cauley. He whiffed three, and he’s fanned five over his 4 1/3 innings in Cactus League action. Gilbert should be one of the first ten or so pitchers drafted in 2026, and offers massive upside because of his ability to miss bats for a team that should give him plenty of win opportunities.

Logan Gilbert pitched two scoreless innings and struck out two against the Dodgers on Monday.
Gilbert was last seen looking exhausted at the end of the ALCS, but his batteries have been recharged since; he averaged 96.7 mph with his fastball today, which was up 1.3 mph from last year. His slider was up even a bit more, averaging 89.6 mph. It seems like a good sign for the top-10 SP.

Logan Gilbert will make his spring training debut against the Dodgers on Monday.
Gilbert’s 2025 season was limited by injuries, but when healthy he posted an outstanding 173/31 K/BB ratio over 131 innings with a 3.45 ERA. He should pitch at or near the top of the Seattle rotation to open 2026, and he has the most upside of any of the Mariners’ starters from a fantasy perspective.
