The Dodgers are calling up center fielder Alek Thomas, according to The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya.

Thomas isn’t the most exciting option from a pure fantasy perspective, but he makes the most sense as a short-term stopgap for the Dodgers with Andy Pages set to miss 4-5 weeks with a fractured hand. The 26-year-old defensive specialist is an excellent defender in center field and is already on the 40-man roster. He’ll split time with Tommy Edman and Enrique Hernández for the next couple weeks. There’s a chance that a top prospect like Josue De Paula, Mike Sirota or James Tibbs III get a look once rosters expand, but that seems unlikely at this juncture.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Andy Pages is expected to miss 4-5 weeks with a fractured left hand.

Pages underwent X-rays that revealed the fracture after being hit by a pitch during the early stages of Friday’s game against the Pirates. Roberts didn’t say how the Dodgers intend to replace Pages, but former Diamondbacks center fielder Alek Thomas, who is already on the 40-man roster, seems like the obvious choice. He could come up and play against most righties, with Tommy Edman moving to center against lefties. That would free up some infield time for Enrique Hernández and Miguel Rojas. There’s an extremely small, but non-zerp possibility that the Dodgers bring up one of their top outfield prospects like Josue De Paula, Mike Sirota, or James Tibbs III.

Dodgers OF prospect Mike Sirota saw his 72-game on-base streak snapped on Friday at Double-A Tulsa.

Sirota fell two games shy of matching the 74-game single-season record set by Andrew Velazquez for Low-A South Bend in 2014. The 23-year-old on-base machine has firmly established himself as one of the top fantasy prospects in the minor-league landscape, hitting .314/.468/.554 with 14 homers and 11 stelas in 363 plate appearances between High-A Great Lakes and Double-A Tulsa this season. However, his path to at-bats in Los Angeles is blocked by a plethora of veterans at the highest level. He could force his way into their long-term plans at some point next year, but it would likely take an injury or unexpected development for Sirota to reach the big leagues in the second half.

Dodgers OF prospect Mike Sirota went 1-for-6 with a solo home run for Double-A Tulsa on Sunday.

That homer extended Sirota’s on-base streak to 68 games. The 23-year-old is hitting .324/.484/.547 with seven home runs, 25 RBI, and three steals in 38 games at Double-A after being promoted following 35 games at High-A. He has emerged as a top-15 prospect in all of baseball and looks like a major steal for the Dodgers, who drafted him in 2021 only to see him choose to go to college. The Reds wound up drafting Sirota, but the Dodgers traded Gavin Lux for him in January 2025. Looks like a pretty good move at this point.

Dodgers OF prospect Josue De Paula went 4-for-5 with two homers on Wednesday for Double-A Tulsa.

His teammate Mike Sirota also homered while extending his on-base streak to a surreal 65 consecutive games. The tandem were named to the National League’s roster for the upcoming 2026 MLB All-Star Futures Game earlier this week. It was De Paula’s second multi-homer performance of the season as he’s slashing a robust .322/.419/.563 with 15 round-trippers and 21 steals in 73 games. The Athletic’s Katie Woo reported earlier this week that De Paula is basically the lone untouchable prospect in Los Angeles’ system approaching next month’s trade deadline. He’s evolved into a top-five range fantasy prospect in dynasty leagues and has a chance to be a five-category monster as part of the Dodgers loaded lineup once he reaches the majors.

Dodgers acquired OF Mike Sirota and a Competitive Balance draft pick from the Reds for INF/OF Gavin Lux.

The Dodgers finally get their chance with Sirota after picking him in the 16th round of the 2021 MLB Draft, but were unable to sign him. The 21-year-old outfielder, who was taken in the third round of last year’s draft by Cincinnati, will head to Los Angeles as an intriguing development project. His power-speed combo could make him an impact fantasy contributor in a few years.
