Miles Mikolas struggled in a losing effort against his former club on Sunday, giving up five runs (four earned) on five hits over 4 2/3 innings against the Cardinals.
Mikolas also issued three walks on the afternoon while recording only one strikeout. The Cardinals jumped on him right out of the gate in this one as Nelson Velazquez swatted a three-run homer in the opening inning. The Cardinals then added single runs in the second and fifth innings. He got eight whiffs on 83 pitches on the day, registering an uninspiring CSW of 20 percent. He remains a poor fantasy option heading into the 2026 season.

Miles Mikolas threw three innings against the Mets and allowed three earned runs while striking out three.
He allowed an opposite-field dinger to Brett Baty in a three-run first inning, then settled down in his final two innings. Assuming he makes the team, expect the lackluster results and homers allowed to continue in our nation’s capitol this spring.

Miles Mikolas danced through raindrops on Friday, issuing three walks and allowing one hit over two innings of scoreless baseball.
The soft-tossing right-hander didn’t have any real problems in the opening inning, but put himself into a hole as he issued three walks in the second, loading the bases for Jose Altuve. That’s where he used his veteran moxie to coax a called third strike out of Altuve to quell the threat and escape the inning unscathed. He’ll eat innings for the Nationals in 2026, but isn’t likely to be helpful at all for fantasy purposes.

Nationals signed RHP Miles Mikolas to a one-year, $2.25 million contract.
Jon Heyman provided the contract value. Based on the team’s need for a true innings eater, no matter the quality of those innings, Mikolas has always made a ton of sense for the Nationals. Probably the only better bet for innings still in free agency was Patrick Corbin, and that reunion was never likely to take place. The Nationals rotation currently seems most likely to include Cade Cavalli, Brad Lord, Foster Griffin, Mikolas and either Josiah Gray or Jake Irvin.

Yahoo!'s Jake Mintz reports the Nationals will sign veteran RHP Miles Mikolas.
No word yet on the terms, but it’d be stunning if it wasn’t a one-year contract. Mikolas finished 2025 8-11 with a 4.84 ERA in 31 starts. The 37-year-old hasn’t carried an ERA below 4.78 since 2022. He figures to just be a depth addition or an inning eater as the Nationals continue their long rebuild.

Miles Mikolas gave up three homers and four runs in five innings Friday in a loss to the Cubs.
Here’s a pretty remarkable stat: Mikolas is going to end the year having given up more homers in two starts at Wrigley (nine) than in 15 home starts (seven). Without wind being much of a factor, Mikolas surrendered six against the Cubs on July 4. The wind, though, did hurt some today, especially on Nico Hoerner’s career-long 412-foot blast. This will probably go down as Mikolas’s final start with the Cardinals, as he’s three-year, $55.75 million contract is expiring. He ends the year 8-11 with a 4.84 ERA and 100 strikeouts in 156 1/3 innings. He’s 37 and has an 85 ERA+ the last three years, so he’s probably going to have a rough go in free agency.

Miles Mikolas struggled but was able to limit the damage in a no-decision against the Brewers on Saturday, surrendering two runs on seven hits over his five-plus frames.
Mikolas struck out three batters on the night while issuing a pair of free passes. Despite the parade of baserunners, the Brewers were only able to scratch out single runs against him in the second and sixth innings — the second of which scored after Mikolas had turned the ball over to the bullpen following a leadoff double. He got four whiffs on 95 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 26 percent. He’ll carry an uninspiring 4.76 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and a 96/36 K/BB ratio (151 1/3 innings) into his final start of the season on Friday against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Miles Mikolas pitched well in a victory over the Brewers on Sunday afternoon, allowing just two runs on five hits across five frames.
The 37-year-old hurler punched out five batters on the day and didn’t allow a base on balls. He kept the Brewers off the board through the first three innings, then served up solo homers to Caleb Durbin in the fourth and Danny Jansen in the fifth inning. Mikolas got five whiffs on 88 pitches on the day, posting a middling CSW of 27 percent. He’ll try to build off of this strong outing as he totes a 4.80 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and a 93/34 K/BB ratio (146 1/3 innings) into a rematch against the Brewers at home on Saturday.

Miles Mikolas didn’t qualify for a decision after giving up two runs in five-plus innings of work against the Mariners on Monday.
Mikolas blanked the Mariners over the first five innings, but he gave up two runs in the sixth; both after he exited the game. The 37-year-old struck out two with one walk and kept the powerful Seattle lineup in the park. Mikolas has pitched well in back-to-back starts, but remains very tough to trust in fantasy. That will remain true for a scheduled start against the Brewers on Sunday.

Miles Mikolas allowed one run with no strikeouts over six innings in a win over the Athletics on Tuesday.
Mikolas held the Athletics to one run over six frames, giving up the run on a pair of doubles in the third inning. He scattered three other hits and one walk while not recording a strikeout. The 37-year-old right-hander will take a 4.89 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and an 86/33 K/BB ratio across 136 1/3 innings into a start against the Mariners in Seattle on Monday.
