Mets acquire reliever Fernando Salas from the Angels

The Mets announced the club acquired reliever Fernando Salas from the Angels in exchange for minor league pitcher Erik Manoah.

Salas, 31, has a 4.47 ERA with a 45/19 K/BB ratio in 56 1/3 innings of relief. The right-hander is eligible to become a free agent after the season.

Manoah, 20, was selected by the Mets in the 13th round of the 2014 draft. This season, with low-A Brooklyn, the right-hander compiled a 5.37 ERA with a 63/27 K/BB ratio over 62 innings spanning 12 starts and one relief appearance.
