Nick Anderson has announced his retirement from professional baseball.
The 35-year-old hurler had been pitching very well at Triple-A Las Vegas for the A’s, posting a 2.16 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and a 16/5 K/BB ratio across 16 2/3 innings. If this is indeed the end for Anderson, he finishes his big league career with a 3.43 ERA and 10 saves over 173 innings in six seasons between the Marlins, Rays, Braves, Royals and Rockies. Best of luck to the right-hander in his future endeavors.

Athletics signed RHP Nick Anderson to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Anderson bolsters the Athletics’ relief depth heading into next season after struggling to a bloated 6.14 ERA across 14 2/3 innings over 12 appearances for the Rockies last year. he 35-year-old once profiled as a legitimate late-inning weapon during his Rays days, but the swing-and-miss stuff has faded in recent years. He’ll compete for a spot in the Athletics’ bullpen during spring training.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #61
Mariners signed RHP Nick Anderson to a minor league contract.
The deal is now official. Anderson was cut loose by the Rockies earlier this weekend to give him an opportunity to latch on with a contender. A player needs to be in the organization by September 1 to be eligible for the postseason. The 35-year-old veteran offers some reliable middle relief depth for Seattle heading into the home stretch.

The New York Post’s Joel Sherman reports the Mariners are signing free agent reliever Nick Anderson.
Anderson was removed from Colorado’s 40-man roster earlier this weekend after being optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque and elected free agency. It’s a bit unclear whether the 35-year-old is joining Seattle’s big-league bullpen or heading to Triple-A Tacoma, but he’s on his way to the Pacific Northwest after making 12 relief appearances for the floundering Rockies.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #61
Rockies optioned RHP Nick Anderson to Triple-A Albuquerque.
The 35-year-old hurler struggled in 12 appearances with the Rockies, registering a 6.14 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and a 10/2 K/BB ratio across 14 2/3 innings. He’ll continue to serve as extra bullpen depth at the Triple-A level and should get another shot with the big league club in September.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #61
Rockies recalled RHP Nick Anderson from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Anderson returns to Colorado’s relief mix after closer Seth Halvorsen hit the injured list with an elbow strain. The well-traveled 35-year-old made one relief appearance earlier this year for the Rockies, allowing five runs in his lone inning of work. He can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #61
Rockies optioned RHP Nick Anderson to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Unfortunately, Anderson surrendered five runs in his one inning with the Rockies. It was enough to up the veteran’s career ERA from 3.18 to 3.45.

Rockies selected the contract of RHP Nick Anderson from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Anderson was signed to a minor league deal back in May, and now gets the “privilege” of joining the Colorado bullpen. The 35-year-old could see save opportunities if things go well, but it’s hard to imagine him being relevant in any iteration of a fantasy league.

Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports that the Rockies are promoting Nick Anderson from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Anderson was signed to a minor league deal by the Rockies back in May, and the former closer will get a chance to pitch at the highest level two months later. It’s been a while since the 35-year-old had fantasy relevancy, and it’s impossible to imagine that changes in Colorado.

Rockies signed RHP Nick Anderson to a minor league contract.
The 34-year-old right-hander exercised an opt-out clause in his minor league deal with the Cardinals and found an opportunity with a much clearer path to the big leagues. Anderson posted a 6.20 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and a 20/8 K/BB ratio over 20 1/3 innings in 17 appearances at Triple-A Memphis.
