According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, the Dodgers have acquired SS prospect Noah Miller from the Twins in exchange for OF Manuel Margot.
The 21-year-old Miller was the 36th overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft; however, he has yet to really excel as a pro. He hit .223/.309/.340 in 120 games at High-A last season with eight home runs and 12 steals. According to the Fangraphs scouting report, Miller has strong bat-to-ball skills thanks to quick hands and good bat control, but he isn’t a “toolsy” player and doesn’t have the profile for much power. Defensively, his range and arm strength are below average for a big league shortstop, and it’s more than likely he grows into a utility infielder with plus contact skills.
