Braves claimed RHP Osvaldo Bido off waivers from the Athletics.
Bido, 30, was successful in 2024 with a 3.47 ERA for the Athletics, but struggled in 2025 with a 5.87 mark over 79 2/3 innings. The right-hander will have a chance to earn a spot on the Atlanta staff in spring training.

Osvaldo Bido allowed four runs with five strikeouts over three innings in a no-decision against the Tigers on Tuesday.
Bido kept the Tigers off the board through two innings until Riley Greene took him deep with the bases loaded for a grand slam in the third. Bido’s day would be done after three innings at 66 pitches. He struck out five. The 29-year-old right-hander now holds a 5.66 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, and a 54/27 K/BB ratio across 68 1/4 innings. He’s lined up for a start against the Cardinals in St. Louis on Monday.

Osvaldo Bido was credited with his first save of the season on Thursday against the Twins.
Bido was called upon to close out Thursday afternoon’s one-sided affair at Target Field and managed to limit Minnesota to just one run over three frames to end it. The 29-year-old righty was credited with his first career save in the process. He’ll continue to operate in mop-up duty for the Athletics over the final five weeks.

Athletics recalled RHP Osvaldo Bido from Triple-A Las Vegas.
The 29-year-old hurler will take the roster spot of Mitch Spence who was optioned to Triple-A on Thursday. Bido has been knocked around in his time with the A’s this season, registering a 6.14 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and a 34/23 K/BB ratio across 48 1/3 innings in his 12 appearances. He’ll provide manager Mark Kotsay with a fresh arm that’s capable of logging multiple innings out of the bullpen. Bido can continue to be ignored for fantasy purposes.

Athletics optioned RHP Osvaldo Bido to Triple-A Las Vegas.
The 29-year-old hurler has really struggled in his time with the A’s this season, registering a 6.14 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and a 34/23 K/BB ratio over 48 1/3 innings of work in 12 appearances. He’ll work to refine his craft at the Triple-A level until another opportunity arises with the A’s.

Athletics placed RHP Gunnar Hoglund on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 1, with a left hip impingement.
Hoglund heads to the injured list after coughing up four homers and getting torched for eight runs over six innings on Saturday against Toronto. The 25-year-old rookie has compiled a bloated 6.40 ERA over 32 1/3 innings (six starts) this season at the big-league level. It’ll likely be Osvaldo Bido taking his spot in the Athletics’ rotation.

Athletics recalled RHP Osvaldo Bido from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Bido returns to the Athletics’ pitching mix, most likely in a versatile swingman-type role, after spending a couple weeks at the Triple-A level. The 29-year-old journeyman struggled to a pedestrian 5.82 ERA across 43 1/3 innings (nine starts) before losing his rotation spot back in mid-May.

Athletics optioned RHP Osvaldo Bido to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Bido was lit up for six runs over 1 2/3 innings in Thursday’s loss to the Dodgers, so this move doesn’t come as a major surprise. He’ll attempt to work through his issues at the Triple-A level for the time being before potentially rejoining the A’s rotation later in the season.

Osvaldo Bido was absolutely obliterated in Thursday night’s loss to the Dodgers, getting torched for six runs on five hits in just 1 2/3 innings of work.
Bido also issued a pair of free passes in the abbreviated outing while recording two of his five total outs via the strikeout. The Dodgers jumped on him right out of the gate in this one, putting up three runs in the opening inning — including a two-run blast off the bat of Max Muncy. The Dodgers pushed three more across while chasing him from the game the following frame. Bido got just four whiffs on 49 pitches on the night, registering a brutal CSW of only 16 percent. He’ll carry a miserable 5.82 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and a 29/18 K/BB ratio (43 1/3 innings) into Tuesday’s matchup against the Angels.

Osvaldo Bido allowed four runs — three earned — while working 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Yankees on Friday.
Bido allowed one of the three homers by Jasson Dominguez, and also gave up a roundtripper to Paul Goldschmidt. He allowed eight hits in the contest while walking two, but he was at least able to pick up six strikeouts. Bido is a tough sell when he’s pitching in a literal Triple-A ballpark, and he’s struggled in his last two outings to see his ERA push up to 4.75. He likely won’t have much fun next week when he squares off against the Dodgers.
