Owen Caissie swatted a game-tying two-run homer in the eighth inning on Friday night, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Marlins past the Mets.
Caissie ambushed a first-pitch splitter from Tobias Myers for a 397-foot (103.4 mph EV) two-run blast that tied the score at 7-7 in the eighth inning. That would wind up being the extent of the Marlins’ offense in the game though. The 23-year-old outfielder finished the night 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and is now hitting .232/.286/.399 with five long balls and 28 RBI on the season.

Owen Caissie is out of the lineup for Tuesday’s contest against the Blue Jays.
Caissie takes a seat against Blue Jays reliever Spencer Miles with Kyle Stowers moving over to right field. The 23-year-old former top prospect has shown some signs of life recently, hitting .270 (10-for-37) with two homers, 11 RBI and two steals over his last 15 games. He’ll need to show some additional consistency before fantasy managers in shallow mixed leagues are encouraged to consider rostering him.

Owen Caissie is not in Miami’s starting lineup for Friday’s game against the Rays.
With LHP Ian Seymour reportedly opening, the Marlins have decided it’s time for a classic Christopher Morel #RevengeGame. Caissie is hitting .156/.237/.250 in his last 13 games with just one homer and stolen base apiece.

Owen Caissie went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk on Wednesday against the Twins.
After smoking two home runs in his first seven games of the season, Caissie hadn’t hit one since before this game. That was 28 games and 88 plate appearances ago for a player whose power is their carrying tool. He finally managed to get off the schneid here though with a 400 foot blast off Simeon Woods-Richardson, but still has a lowly .609 OPS and strikeout rate north of 40% as he tries to maintain his strong-side platoon role in the Marlins’ outfield.

Owen Caissie (triceps) is back in the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Twins.
Caissie will patrol right field and bat eighth in his return to Miami’s lineup following a brief two-game absence due to left triceps discomfort. The 23-year-old former top prospect is hitting just .198/.254/.317 with two homers, 17 RBI and two steals in 114 plate appearances over 35 games in his Marlins debut.

Owen Caissie (triceps) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Twins.
Caissie will sit out his second consecutive contest after being scratched from Sunday’s lineup with left triceps discomfort. The 23-year-old rookie outfielder has gotten off to a slow start in his Miami debut, hitting .198/.254/.317 with two homers, 17 RBI and two thefts in 114 plate appearances over 35 games.

Owen Caissie was scratched from the Marlins’ starting lineup on Sunday due to left triceps discomfort.
The injury is not believed to be serious, and the 23-year-old outfielder is considered day-to-day. Heriberto Hernandez will start in his place in left field and will bat seventh against Cade Cavalli and the Nationals.

Owen Caisse was scratched from the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Phillies due to illness.
Esteury Ruiz takes over in left field and will hit ninth in his place. Caissie cooled off considerably in recent weeks, and is hitting just .200/.242/.333 with two homers, 15 RBI and one steal through 30 games in his Marlins debut.

Owen Caissie went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI and two doubles against the Reds on Thursday.
Caissie’s 2-RBI double in the fourth-inning was just over the glove of T.J. Friedl in left field, plating two. He added an RBI single in the seventh. Caissie has stabilized in the No. 6 spot against right-handed starters. The platoon role keeps him from being a must-start in fantasy leagues, but he’s looked more than able through his first few weeks in Miami, hitting .324/.385/.618 through his first 34 plate appearances.

Owen Caissie delivered a go-ahead RBI single on Tuesday, leading the Marlins to a decisive 9-2 win over the White Sox.
Caissie put Miami ahead with a run-scoring single against White Sox starter Erick Fedde as part of a four-run outburst in the fourth inning. He also brought home an additional insurance run with an eighth-inning sacrifice fly. The 23-year-old corner outfielder was the highest-profile prospect to change teams over the offseason and is off to an outstanding start in his Marlins debut, hitting .400 (6-for-15) with one homer, six RBI and one steal through five contests.
