Blue Jays selected the contract of LHP Patrick Corbin from Low-A Dunedin.
Corbin fortifies Toronto’s razor-thin pitching depth heading into Tuesday’s showdown against the Dodgers at the Rogers Centre. The 36-year-old veteran southpaw signed a one-year pact earlier this month after the Blue Jays lost Cody Ponce to a potentially season-ending knee injury. He’ll operate in a swingman-type long relief role out of the bullpen, but could also take the ball as a traditional starter, if needed. He’s not a recommended fantasy option either way.

Patrick Corbin threw five innings and struck out nine for Low-A Dunedin on Sunday.
Corbin threw 74 pitches, with 53 of them landing for strikes. He reportedly averaged 91.2 mph with his sinker, which is right around what he was at wit the offering in 2025. It’s possible Corbin will make one more minor league start, but with Toronto needing help in the rotation, that next outing could come with the Blue Jays.

Blue Jays signed LHP Patrick Corbin to a one-year contract, optioned hm to Low-A Dunedin.
Corbin will make $1 million. He expected more after a solid showing with the Rangers last year (7-11, 4.40 ERA, 131/51 K in 155 1/3 IP), but it never materialized. For the Jays, this seems like a response to Cody Ponce’s ACL injury. If Trey Yesavage and Shane Bieber progress as hoped in the coming weeks, they might never need to turn to Corbin. If not, he can provide innings at the back of the rotation for a spell.

Patrick Corbin wasn’t at his best in Sunday’s no-decision against the Guardians, giving up three runs on four hits over his four innings of work.
On the plus side, the 36-year-old southpaw managed to rack up five strikeouts on the afternoon while issuing a pair of walks. The Guardians took an early 2-0 lead off of him on a two-run single by Johnathan Rodriguez in the home half of the first inning. He then allowed another on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Bo Naylor in the third inning. Corbin got 15 swings and misses on 90 pitches on the afternoon, posting a CSW of 30 percent. The impending free agent finishes the year with a 7-11 record, 4.40 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and a 131/51 K/BB ratio over 155 1/3 innings in 31 appearances (30 starts) for the Rangers.

Patrick Corbin pitched decently in a losing effort against the Twins on Tuesday night, allowing two runs on four hits over his 3 2/3 innings of work.
The 36-year-old southpaw also walked two batters on the evening while striking out a pair. The Twins scratched out two runs against him in the third inning on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Byron Buxton and an RBI single by Ryan Jeffers. That was enough to do him in. Corbin got 10 whiffs on 65 pitches on the evening, posting a CSW of 25 percent. He’ll bring a 4.34 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and a 126/49 K/BB ratio (151 1/3 innings) into his final start of the season on Sunday against the Guardians in Cleveland.

Patrick Corbin allowed one run -- zero earned -- with five strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Saturday.
Corbin stranded the bases loaded against the Mets in the first inning and tossed three more scoreless innings before giving up an unearned run on two hits and an error in the fifth that would end his day at 85 pitches. He struck out five. The 36-year-old left-hander will take a 4.23 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and a 124/47 K/BB ratio across 146 2/3 innings into a start against the Marlins in Texas next Saturday.

Patrick Corbin turned in 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball Sunday against the Astros.
He struck out five and walked one. Nine of the 14 balls in play against Corbin were hit hard, and seven had at least .500 xBAs, with two more over .400, yet he allowed just three hits: one double and two singles. He’ll face the Mets next weekend.

Patrick Corbin surrendered five runs in 5 2/3 innings Monday in a no-decision the D-backs.
Corbin departed in line for a loss, but the Rangers came back to keep him 0-4 with a 10.69 ERA in seven career starts against the club he debuted with in 2012. Corbin gave up three solo homers in the first two innings tonight and then two runs on two hits in the sixth. Those were actually the only hits he allowed in the game, but they were all big ones. Corbin will likely make his next start Sunday against the Astros.

Patrick Corbin delivered his finest start of the season on Tuesday night, hurling eight innings of shutout baseball in a victory over the Angels.
The 36-year-old southpaw scattered just three hits and one walk on the evening while striking out eight opposing hitters. The biggest threat against him came in the opening inning as Zach Neto doubled and advanced to third with one out, but Corbin got Taylor Ward and Jo Adell each to ground out to end the threat. He generated 14 swings and misses on 102 pitches on the night — five of them on his cutter — while posting a solid CSW of 30 percent. He’ll see if he can recreate this magic as he carries a 4.33 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and a 109/43 K/BB ratio (131 innings) into Monday’s tilt against the Diamondbacks in Arizona.

Patrick Corbin allowed four runs over 3 2/3 innings on Thursday in a no-decision against the Royals.
Corbin remains a perfectly cromulent innings-eater, but there’s no reason he should be rostered in fantasy leagues. The 36-year-old southpaw gave up seven hits, including a solo homer to Nick Loftin. He struck out two and also issued two walks. He’ll bring a lackluster 4.61 ERA 1.41 WHIP and 101/42 K/BB ratio across 123 innings (24 starts) into a home outing on Tuesday against the Angels.
