Randal Grichuk went 2-for-3 with two homers in Friday’s loss to the Phillies.
Both of Grichuk’s homers came via solo blasts, with the first coming in the third inning off Jesús Luzardo, who he would also get the best of in the fifth inning for his second homer of the day and fifth of the season. Grichuk is heating up a bit as of late, slashing .303/.324/.636 in his last 15 games.

Randal Grichuk had a three-run double against the Twins in Thursday’s win for the White Sox.
Grichuk is now 12-for-36 with four homers and 13 RBI for the White Sox after going 6-for-31 with no homers and two RBI for the Yankees at the beginning of the season. He’s essentially been filling in for Austin Hays, so it’ll be interesting how the White Sox try to work in both after Hays comes off the injured list. They could have released Grichuk at that point if Grichuk were just putting up average numbers, but that’s probably not on the table now.

Austin Hays (calf strain) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run for Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.
Hays has gone 2-for-10 in his first three games at Triple-A, but both hits have been home runs. The 30-year-old has been sidelined since May 4th with a calf strain after also missing significant time with a hamstring strain. With Sam Antonacci playing well in left field, the White Sox will have a tough choice to make when Hays is ready to return. Likely one of Tristan Peters or Jarred Kelenic will head back to the minors, or the White Sox will choose to designate Randal Grichuk for assignment.

Randal Grichuk went 2-for-3 with a homer and four RBI on Thursday evening, propelling the White Sox to a 6-2 victory over the visiting Royals.
Grichuk got the White Sox on the board with a go-ahead, 401-foot (108.5 mph EV) two-run blast in the opening inning, giving the White Sox a lead that they would never relinquish. He then strolled to the dish with the bases loaded in the third inning and added a two-run single that pushed the Sox’ advantage to 4-1. With his two-hit night, the 34-year-old lefty masher is now slashing .234/.260/.511 with three homers and nine RBI on the season.

Andrew Benintendi (neck) was held out of the White Sox’ starting lineup for Sunday’s matchup against the Mariners.
Benintendi was scratched from Saturday’s lineup due to stiffness in his neck. The 31-year-old outfielder is considered day-to-day. Once again, Randal Grichuk will start in his place as the White Sox’ designated hitter and will bat eighth against Mariners’ right-hander Logan Gilbert.

White Sox signed OF Randal Grichuk to a one-year, $1.25 million contract.
Grichuk heads to the Windy City shortly after being jettisoned by the Yankees last week. The 34-year-old will replace an injured Austin Hays (calf) on Chicago’s roster. He’ll operate in a lefty-mashing bench role moving forward.

The White Sox are signing Randal Grichuk to a one-year contract, according to FanSided’s Robert Murray.
Grichuk lands on his feet with the White Sox shortly after being cut loose by the Yankees last week. The 34-year-old figures to operate in a lefty-mashing bench role for Chicago. He can be safely ignored for fantasy purposes.

Randal Grichuk refused his outright assignment to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and will become a free agent.
Grichuk cleared waivers. Instead of becoming a RailRider, he will search for a new home. The 34-year-old was off to a .194/.212/.323 start for the Yankees in 33 plate appearances as a lefty-masher. A career .268/.318/.498 hitter against left-handed pitchers, Grichuk should be able to find work elsewhere.

Yankees designated OF Randal Grichuk for assignment.
Grichuk was designated for assignment to make room for Elmer Rodriguez, who is going to start on Wednesday in his MLB debut. However, with Anthony Volpe set to come off the injured list this week, Jose Caballero can begin to play more outfield against left-handed pitching, which means the Yankees no longer have a need for Grichuk.

Cody Bellinger is not in the Yankees’ starting lineup for Thursday night’s showdown against the Red Sox.
Bellinger will take a seat with left-hander Payton Tolle toeing the slab for the Red Sox. Trent Grisham will start in center field and bat leadoff for the Bombers while Randal Grichuk draws a start in left and will bat fifth.
