Seiya Suzuki homered and scored two runs in Chicago’s loss to the Giants on Friday.
He also added three walks. Suzuki’s doubles have evaporated this year -- he has just five in 182 at-bats -- but he’s still hitting homers at his 2025 pace and fantasy managers who aren’t in slugging percentage leagues probably don’t mind if he wants to focus exclusively on the long ball.

Seiya Suzuki is not in the Cubs’ starting lineup for Thursday evening’s matchup against the Athletics.
It appears to be nothing more than a routine breather for the 31-year-old slugger. Suzuki has seen his production fall off following a brilliant 2025 campaign, slashing just .239/.324/.400 with eight homers and 20 RBI through his first 204 plate appearances on the season. Michael Conforto will take his place in right field and bat second for the Cubs against A’s right-hander J.T. Ginn.

Seiya Suzuki went 2-for-5 and drove in a pair of runs on Thursday night as the Cubs bested the Pirates in Pittsburgh.
Suzuki got the Cubs on the board first with an RBI single off of Paul Skenes in the fourth inning, giving them a lead they’d never relinquish. He also plated a run with a fielder’s choice in the sixth inning that extended their advantage to 3-0. The 31-year-old slugger has struggled to find consistency at the plate this season, slashing a disappointing .239/.333/.396 with seven homers and 19 RBI through his first 183 plate appearances.

Seiya Suzuki went 0-for-4 against the Astros in Friday’s loss.
Just an ugly game for Suzuki, who had seven men on base in his first three at-bats and did nothing with any of them. He is 7-for-43 with one extra-base hit and 16 strikeouts in his last 11 games, dropping his OPS from .975 to .802.

Seiya Suzuki went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, two walks, and two runs scored in a 7-1 win over the Rangers on Friday.
The Cubs can do no wrong at the moment and Suzuki has been at the center of their surge. His home run here was a towering shot that traveled 419 feet and was hit 110 mph off the bat. Past that, he drew walks that were part of rallies in the first and seventh innings. On the season, he has a .304/.414/.565 slash line with seven home runs across 25 games.

Seiya Suzuki went 2-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run against the Reds on Monday.
Suzuki’s home run was his sixth of the season. He hit a three-run shot off Chase Petty in the fourth inning. Suzuki has four home runs in his last 10 games. He’s hitting .321 with a .985 OPS so far this year.

Dansby Swanson (glute cramps) is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Padres.
Swanson should be considered day-to-day, but he was always likely to sit with a day game after a night game. Matt Shaw will start at second base and bat seventh with Nico Hoerner sliding over to shortstop. Seiya Suzuki will also get a day off, with Michael Conforto in right field and batting sixth.

Seiya Suzuki homered and went 3-for-4, but the Cubs were blown out by the Dodgers on Saturday.
Suzuki hit one of three homers the Cubs were able to procure over Roki Sasaki. That gives him four on the season — it’s worth noting that Sasaki didn’t make his debut until April 10 — and he’s slashing .327/.439/.564 over his 55 at-bats.

Seiya Suzuki went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on Wednesday, propelling the Cubs to a 7-2 win over the Phillies.
Suzuki ostensibly put the contest away with a fifth-inning blast against Phillies bulk reliever Taijuan Walker. The 31-year-old corner outfielder has gone deep in back-to-back contests after going 10 games without a big fly after coming off the injured list back on April 10.

Seiya Suzuki is not in the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Phillies.
It appears to be a routine day off for Suzuki with Michael Conforto getting a turn in right field. The 31-year-old corner outfielder is hitting .236 (8-for-34) with one extra-base hit and two RBI in nine games since coming off the injured list back on April 10.
