Ha-Seong Kim is not in the Rays’ starting lineup for Friday night’s battle against the Red Sox.
It looks to be just a routine night off for Kim as the continues to get eased into full-time action following his return from the injured list. Taylor Walls will start in his place at shortstop and will bat sixth for the Rays against Red Sox’ right-hander Hunter Dobbins on Friday evening at Fenway Park.

Brandon Lowe (side) was held out of the Rays’ starting lineup in the fourth consecutive game for Thursday’s series opener against the Red Sox in Boston.
The good news is that there still haven’t been any rumblings of Lowe landing on the injured list, though if this drags on another couple of days they may have to reconsider. Taylor Walls will start in his place at second base and will bat ninth for the Rays against Red Sox right-hander Walker Buehler
  • TB 2nd Baseman #8
Brandon Lowe (side) is not in the lineup for Wednesday’s tilt against the Tigers.
Lowe will miss his third straight game while dealing with discomfort in his side. The 31-year-old is still considered day-to-day, but Taylor Walls will get another start at the keystone and hit eighth while Lowe recovers.
  • TB 2nd Baseman #7
Ha-Seong Kim (calf) remains out of the lineup on Monday for the third consecutive game.
Taylor Walls is at shortstop and batting eighth in his place on Monday night against the American League-leading Tigers. There was some optimism over the weekend that Kim would be ready for Monday’s series opener in Detroit, but he’s going to get some extra time off to rest and recover. The 29-year-old is dealing with a right calf issue. There should be a clearer update on his status at some point shortly.
  • TB 3rd Baseman #77
José Caballero has been scratched from the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Twins.
No word on the reason for the swap, but it’ll be Taylor Walls taking over at shortstop on Sunday afternoon in his place.
  • TB 2nd Baseman #7
Ha-Seong Kim (calf) is absent from the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Twins.
No surprise here with the quick turnaround after Kim was lifted from his Rays debut on Friday with cramping in his right calf. Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash downplayed concern regarding the issue while speaking to reporters after the game, so fantasy managers shouldn’t be overly concerned. There’s a strong chance he’s ready for Sunday’s series finale. It’ll be defensive specialist Taylor Walls taking over at shortstop on Saturday afternoon in his absence.
  • TB 3rd Baseman #77
José Caballero is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Royals.
Taylor Walls will start at shortstop in Caballero’s place and bat eighth. With fellow shortstop Ha-Seong Kim (shoulder) nearing a return to the big league lineup, it remains to be seen what will happen to Caballero’s playing time. He will likely see more work in the outfield and start at second base against lefties, but he may not get as much playing time as he does now.
  • TB Shortstop #6
Taylor Walls hit a walkoff two-run single in a 4-3 win for the Rays on Thusrday over the Rangers
With two outs, Walls was able to single home a pair in the bottom of the ninth to give the Rays the walk-off win. It was the second hit of the game for Walls, but he’s still hitting a less-than-spectacular .193/.277/230 in his 2025 action. It doesn’t take away from the fun he had today, but Wells will remain a no-go in fantasy leagues.
  • TB Shortstop #6
Taylor Walls is back in the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the Blue Jays.
Walls is back in Tampa Bay’s lineup for the first time since being scratched from Wednesday’s game against the Astros with groin soreness. The 28-year-old defensive wizard came off the bench during Friday and Saturday’s contests.
  • TB Shortstop #6
Taylor Walls (groin) came off the bench as a pinch-runner during Friday’s win over the Blue Jays.
Walls came on to run in the seventh inning of Friday’s contest, and stayed in to play shortstop, after being left off the lineup card for two straight games due to a minor groin issue. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern at the moment. The 28-year-old is an excellent defender, but offers very little at the dish. He’ll likely continue to cede time to José Caballero moving forward until top prospect Carson Willams is ready to arrive in Tampa Bay.
