Mets placed RHP Clay Holmes on the 15-day injured list with a right fibular fracture.
Holmes suffered a broken leg when he was nailed by a 111-mph line drive from Yankees rookie Spencer Jones during the fourth inning of Friday’s start at Citi Field. Amazingly, he faced seven additional batters prior to exiting the contest when X-rays revealed the fracture in his leg. The unfortunate development is the latest crushing blow to New York’s rotation, and a significant hit for fantasy rotations, since he posted a sparkling 2.39 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 45/18 K/BB ratio across 52 2/3 innings over nine starts to open the year. He’s facing a lengthy absence and figures to miss at least a couple months. There should be a definitive timetable from the Mets at some point soon. Jack Wenninger, Jonah Tong and Tobias Myers are the logical candidates to take his rotation spot. Wenninger, who has posted a 1.08 ERA and 38/18 K/BB ratio over 33 1/3 innings at Triple-A Syracuse this season, and Tong would be the most intriguing fantasy-wise given their strikeout upside.

After Tobias Myers blanked the Cubs for two innings as a starter, David Peterson worked 3 2/3 scoreless innings on Sunday.
Peterson left in line for the win today, but that was spoiled in the ninth inning. Maybe because he knew he wouldn’t be expected to throw 90-100 pitches, Peterson’s velocity was up 1-1.5 mph today. He had just one strikeout and one whiff, but he also allowed little hard contact. It’s unclear how the Mets will exactly proceed with Peterson now, but that he’s in line to pitch at home against the Rockies next weekend makes him a streaming possibility.

The Mets are going to start Tobias Myers instead of David Peterson against the Cubs on Sunday.
Peterson is still likely to pitch in a bulk role. Myers has topped out at three innings so far, throwing a total of 13 innings with a 3.46 ERA in six appearances. This seems like good news for those intending to use Peterson on Sunday, since it makes it more likely he’ll earn a win. It might not be great news for Peterson’s long-term value, though, just because the Mets seem rather down on him at this point.

Tobias Myers allowed one run over two innings Friday in a start against the Cardinals.
The run came on a homer by Ramon Urias. Myers isn’t likely to break camp as a starter with the Mets, but he could be a valuable multi-inning reliever for New York in 2026. Even if he starts, his fantasy upside is limited because of his own limitations with missing bats.

Tobias Myers yielded one run in three innings and struck out four Saturday in a loss to the Nationals.
Myers was effective even though his fastball was down 1.5 mph from last year and his splitter was down a whopping 4.3 mph. He’s slated to make the Mets as a middle reliever after being acquired alongside Freddy Peralta from the Brewers, but he does have an option year left if needed.

Tobias Myers was sent from the Brewers to the Mets along with Freddy Peralta in Wednesday’s four-player deal.
Myers was surprisingly successful as a rookie in 2024, posting a 3.00 ERA in 138 innings for the Brewers, and while his 2025 started badly, resulting in him spending a fair amount of time in the minors, he still wound up with a 3.55 ERA in six starts and 16 relief appearances for the Brewers. One area of concern was that his strikeout rate dipped from 22% in 2024 to 17% last season. Myers’ 92-95 mph fastball is underwhelming, but he throws strikes and his new splitter is a weapon. He should be of use as a middle reliever in New York, though he has an option year left if the Mets choose to stash him away. He also won’t even be arbitration eligible until 2028.

The Mets are acquiring Freddy Peralta from the Brewers for Brandon Sproat and Jett Williams, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
The Mets will also get Tobias Myers, The Athletic’s Will Sammon confirms. Coming off his fifth place finish in the NL Cy Young balloting, Peralta will join Nolan McLean, David Peterson, Clay Holmes and likely either Kodai Senga or Sean Manaea in the Mets rotation. Sproat could be a candidate to go right into Milwaukee’s rotation, though it seems more likely that he’ll open up in Triple-A. Williams is probably a year away, but he could be a starting shortstop or center fielder for the Brewers in 2027. The Mets will have Peralta for $8 million this year before he becomes eligible for free agency next winter.

The New York Post’s Joel Sherman says the Mets-Brewers talks regarding Freddy Peralta are serious and that the Mets are also due to receive fellow right-hander Tobias Myers if a trade is completed.
Sherman says the Brewers have asked for both Brandon Sproat and Jett Williams, and it sounds like the Mets may have relented following the addition of Myers to the proposed deal.

Tobias Myers has replaced Nick Mears on the Brewers’ roster for the NLCS.
Mears, who pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings in three appearances against the Cubs, experienced back troubles in the second half of the year, which could explain his absence from the roster. Myers gets the call to replace him over DL Hall and Rob Zastryzny. Myers had a 1.91 ERA and 20/3 K/BB in 28 1/3 innings out of the Brewers pen this year, compared to a 5.64 ERA in six starts.

Brewers recalled RHP Tobias Myers from Triple-A Nashville.
Myers returns to the big leagues with Grant Anderson hitting the injured list and Chad Patrick returning to the minors. The 27-year-old holds a respectable 3.90 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 28/12 K/BB ratio across 32 1/3 innings (12 appearances, six starts) this season at the highest level.
