Dodgers placed RHP Tony Gonsolin on the 60-day injured list.
The procedural move opens up a spot on the Dodgers’ 40-man roster to bring Clayton Kershaw back for a 17th season in Los Angeles. Gonsolin is expected to miss the entire 2024 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery last August.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced Monday that Tony Gonsolin will undergo Tommy John surgery on Friday.
Gonsolin will likely to miss the entire 2024 campaign due to the timing of the procedure. The 29-year-old hurler finished the 2023 season with a lackluster 4.98 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 82/40 K/BB ratio across 103 innings (20 starts).

Dodgers transferred RHP Tony Gonsolin to the 60-day injured list.
Gonsolin shifts to the 60-day injured list on Sunday, effectively ending his season. Prior to the move, Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts told reporters that Gonsolin could have surgery that would affect his 2024 availability, but nothing has been set in stone at this time.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters that Gonsolin has had an MRI and he could have surgery that potentially affects his 2024 availability.
The Dodgers have kept Gonsolin’s official diagnosis close to the vest but it sounds like the 29-year-old could miss an extended period of time. We should find out more as the season rolls along.

Dodgers placed RHP Tony Gonsolin on the 15-day injured list with right forearm inflammation.
Gonsolin gave up two handfuls worth of runs against the Marlins Friday night and told reporters after the game that his elbow has been bothering him. He is headed for more tests next week, but Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts told reporters that the 29-year-old is unlikely to pitch again this season. Ryan Pepoit appears likely to take Gonsolin’s place in the Dodgers rotation.

Tony Gonsolin admitted to an elbow injury after giving up 10 runs in 3 1/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Marlins.
Gonsolin gave up five homers before telling reporters that, yeah, his elbow has actually been bothering him for more than a month now. It sounds like he’ll go on the IL in an attempt to get closer to 100 percent. Ryan Pepiot might get a chance to replace him in the rotation.

Tony Gonsolin pitched well in Saturday night’s victory over the Rockies, surrendering just one run on three hits over six strong frames.
The right-hander punched out six batters in the ballgame and didn’t issue a walk. The lone tally against him came on a solo homer off the bat of Ezequiel Tovar in the opening inning. Aside from that, he was fantastic — which is good for Gonsolin, as he may have been pitching for the right to remain in the Dodgers’ rotation going forward. He’ll carry a 4.24 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and an 80/36 K/BB ratio (99 2/3 innings) into Friday’s matchup against the Marlins.

Tony Gonsolin picked up a win on Monday against the Padres despite allowing six runs over six innings.
It wasn’t exactly smooth sailing early on for Gonsolin in this one as he surrendered five runs over the first three frames before keeping the Padres off the scoreboard until the sixth inning. He got 13 runs of support from Los Angeles’ offense to cruise to a relatively easy victory in this one. He posted three strikeouts and only issued one walk. He’ll bring a bloated 4.42 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 74/36 K/BB ratio across 93 2/3 innings (18 starts) into a home outing Saturday against the Rockies.

Tony Gonsolin allowed one run across five innings on Wednesday in a win over the Athletics.
The lone run against Gonsolin came on a solo homer by Shea Langeliers to lead off the third inning. He was otherwise solid, scattering five hits and two walks with three strikeouts over five frames. The 29-year-old right-hander will take a 4.11 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and a 71/35 K/BB across 87 2/3 innings into a start against the Padres in San Diego on Monday.

Tony Gonsolin pummeled for five runs on seven hits in five innings in loss to Blue Jays on Wednesday.
Regression has come for Gonsolin, who has a 5.75 ERA in four starts in July. On Wednesday, he allowed seven hits while walking three and striking out five. In July, he’s allowed 17 hits in 20 1/3 innings while striking out just 17 batters. The poor month has upped his season ERA to 4.25. Gonsolin has just 68 strikeouts in 82 2/3 innings on the season and giving up that much contact will always make him a risky fantasy asset.
