Angels placed LHP Tyler Anderson on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to August 30, with a left oblique strain.
Anderson has been a solid, yet unspectacular innings-eater this season for Los Angeles, posting a serviceable 4.56 ERA across 136 1/3 innings in 26 starts. No word yet on how the Angles will fill his rotation spot, but they have some interesting pitching prospects on the doorstep of the majors including Caden Dana and George Klassen.

Tyler Anderson tossed five scoreless innings and got a no-decision against the Astros on Friday.
Anderson returned from paternity leave to make his start Friday after missing Wednesday’s start. He gave up five hits, walked three and struck out one. Anderson hasn’t come close to matching the 3.81 ERA he had last season. The 35-year-old left-hander has a 4.56 ERA and 104/57 K/BB ratio in 136 1/3 innings this year. Anderson is lined up to face the Astros on the road next week.

Angels placed LHP Tyler Anderson on the paternity list.
Anderson will likely wind up missing Wednesday’s scheduled start against the Rangers given the timing of the placement. The 35-year-old veteran holds a lackluster 4.73 ERA across 131 1/3 innings (25 starts this season. It’s not exactly the worst development for the Angels as it would likely force them to give the ball to one of their younger arms or one of their promising pitching prospects for a spot start.

Tyler Anderson allowed only two runs over five innings, but he didn’t factor into the decision Friday against the Cubs.
Anderson’s last win was April 19. That’s now four months and 21 starts since he was able to see a W next to his name. That’s borderline impossible. Some of it is less-than-spectacular pitching, some of that is less-than-spectacular run support, some of that is an ancient curse. Anderson will face the Rangers and hope the witch breaks the amulet.

Tyler Anderson was charged with four runs over four innings on Saturday in a loss to the Athletics.
Anderson surrendered three hits, including a two-run homer to Colby Thomas in the opening frame that put him on the hook for the loss. He registered only one strikeout and handed out five free passes in his return to the rotation after being scratched from Tuesday’s start against the Dodgers due to back stiffness. He can be safely ignored in most fantasy formats and the Angels should strongly consider taking a look at one of their younger alternatives in his rotation spots over the final six weeks.

Tyler Anderson was scratched from his scheduled start against the Dodgers on Tuesday evening due to back stiffness.
For now, the 35-year-old hurler has not been placed on the injured list, so it’s possible that the Halos thing he’ll be fine to take the ball in a couple of days, perhaps in the rotation spot that was vacated by Jack Kochanowicz. Victor Mederos was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake to start in his place against the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Tyler Anderson surrendered four runs over four innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Rays.
Anderson coughed up five hits, including three home runs in this one. Rays slugger Junior Caminero took him deep twice in the first three frames, accounting for most of the damage. He struck out five and only issued one walk. He’ll bring a pedestrian 4.63 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 97/47 K/BB ratio across 122 1/3 innings (23 starts) into a tough home matchup on Tuesday against the Dodgers. He’s not a recommended option for fantasy purposes.

Tyler Anderson was charged for four runs in six innings to pick up a loss Friday to the White Sox.
Anderson has had issues keeping the ball in the park, and he gave up two roundtrippers Friday after allowing three of them in Saturday’s start against the Mariners. The left-hander allowed five hits in total, and he gave up two free passes against five strikeouts. Anderson still hasn’t picked up a win since April 19, and he’ll take a 2-7 record with a 4.49 ERA into a scheduled bout with the Rays on Wednesday.

Tyler Anderson allowed two runs in 4 2/3 innings while not factoring into the decision Saturday versus the Mariners.
Anderson gave up a long homer to the red-hot Julio Rodriguez and a solo shot to Randy Arozarena. The southpaw allowed six hits, and he issued just one strikeout. It wasn’t an awful start from Anderson, but not one fantasy managers would sign up for. He gets the White Sox on Thursday if he remains a member of the Angels past the trade deadline.

Tyler Anderson allowed four runs and walked five over six-plus innings Monday against the Mets.
It was two runs through six, but the Angels left Anderson in with a two-run lead to give up a walk and a single to start the seventh. Reid Detmers took over then and hit the first batter he faced. A slow grounder followed that the Angels barely missed turning two on and then Juan Soto snuck a grounder into center to make it a three-run inning for the Mets. Anderson is still without a win since mid-April, and he’s received no-decisions in 60 percent of his starts on the season. He’ll face the Mariners this weekend.
