Tyler Soderstrom (groin) is playing left field and hitting cleanup Wednesday against the Red Sox.
Soderstrom returned Tuesday from his groin tightness with two hits off the bench, and the 23-year-old talent will make his return to the starting lineup for the first time in five games. J.J. Bleday will get Wednesday off with Soderstrom back.

Tyler Soderstrom, who had been out with a sore groin, went 2-for-2 with an RBI double off the bench to help the A’s top the Red Sox 2-1 on Tuesday.
Thomas remained in the game in left field after hitting for Colby Thomas in the sixth. It was his fourth straight game out of the starting lineup, but one imagines he would have started tonight had the Red Sox been throwing a right-hander. He will see one in Lucas Giolito on Wednesday.

Tyler Soderstrom (groin) remains out of the lineup for the fourth straight contest on Tuesday against the Red Sox.
It’s been nearly one week since Soderstrom last played due to groin tightness, but there’s been zero indication from the club that he could potentially require a trip to the injured list. It’ll be Max Schuemann drawing another start in left field on Tuesday night at historic Fenway Park.

Tyler Soderstrom (groin) remains out of the lineup for the third consecutive game on Sunday against the Reds.
Soderstrom remains on the bench after being scratched from Friday’s lineup with groin tightness. The 23-year-old slugger remains day-to-day for now. He’ll benefit from some extra rest during Monday’s off day and could potentially be ready for Tuesday’s series opener against the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Tyler Soderstrom was a late scratch from the Athletics’ starting lineup on Friday night due to groin tightness.
A’s skipper Mark Kotsay told reporters that Soderstrom left Wednesday’s game early due to the issue and even after the off-day he still wasn’t quite ready enough to give it a go on Friday. He’s considered day-to-day and should return at some point over the weekend.

Tyler Soderstrom is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday’s game versus the Red Sox.
With left-hander Payton Tolle on the bump, Soderstrom will get a rare day off for the finale against Boston. The 23-year-old will be joined on the bench by Lawrence Butler, so JJ Bleday and Colby Thomas will take their place in the outfield to begin Wednesday’s bout.

Tyler Soderstrom went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and a stolen base as the Athletics fell to the Angels on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles.
The 23-year-old slugger tagged Mitch Farris for a 389-foot solo shot to open the seventh inning, pulling the A’s to within a run at 3-2. He also singled in the second inning and swiped second base but he was left stranded there. Soderstrom is having a terrific season at the dish, slashing .276/.348/.476 with 24 long balls, 86 RBI and eight stolen bases on the season.
  • ATH Shortstop #5
Jacob Wilson is batting fifth for the third straight game on Sunday against the Mariners.
Wilson finds himself in the lower half of Athletics manager Mark Kotsay’s lineup card for the third straight contest since returning from the injured list. The 23-year-old’s contact-oriented skillset is suited for a table-setting role, but the Athletics want to maximize the number of plate appearances rookie slugger Nick Kurtz and Shea Langeliers are getting ahead of Brent Rooker and Tyler Soderstrom, which bumps Wilson from the top of the order for now.
