Rockies placed RHP Victor Vodnik on the 15-day injured list with right ulnar nerve inflammation.
Vodnik had four saves for the Rockies last month, but he’d really struggled of late, giving up 14 runs in his last nine innings of work. Not that we’re recommending any Rockies relievers, but Juan Mejia and Antonio Senzatela are probably slightly better bets for saves with Vodnik out.

Juan Mejia pitched a scoreless 11th inning against the Phillies for his second save Friday.
Victor Vodnik also came up big tonight, throwing hitless ninth and 10th innings for the win. Vodnik remains the favorite for saves in Colorado pen, but Mejia is probably next in line. He has a 4.66 ERA and a 25/9 K/BB in 19 1/3 innings.

Victor Vodnik struck out two in a perfect ninth against the Mets for a save in the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader.
Vodnik, last seen giving up five runs against the Padres in a blown save Thursday, struck out Marcus Semien and MJ Melendez to finish a 3-1 game. He’s now 4-for-6 in his save chances, but he’s still not a great use of a roster spot in mixed leagues.

Trying to close out a three-run lead, Victor Vodnik gave up five while getting two outs Thursday against the Padres.
Vodnik came in with two on and two out in the eighth and struck out Fernando Tatis Jr. The ninth, though, opened with a walk, three singles and a homer to plate five runs. Vodnik then struck out Freddy Fermin before being pulled. It’s the second blown save for Vodnik, who saw his ERA jump from 3.60 to 7.59. It might open the door for Antonio Senzatela or Seth Halvorsen to get save chances in Colorado, but we’d suggest continuing to avoid the entire situation.

Victor Vodnik allowed a pair of hits, but didn’t give up a run while protecting a one-run lead and getting a save against the Dodgers on Saturday.
Vodnik did allow a pair of hits, but he was able to work around those baserunners to preserve the one-run lead. The 26-year-old has dealt with traffic in most of his outings, but he’s been able to (mostly) limit the damage to procure three saves with an ERA of 2.00.

Victor Vodnik worked a hitless ninth against the Astros for his second save Thursday.
Vodnik gave up two runs in his season debut, but he’s allowed just a 10th-inning automatic runner to score in seven innings this month. He’s the clear favorite for saves for the Rockies, though that still probably doesn’t make him worth rostering in 10- and 12-team leagues.

Juan Mejia went 1 2/3 scoreless innings to earn a save Monday against the Astros.
With Victor Vodnik seemingly unavailable, the Rockies tasked Mejia with protecting a two-run lead and to get the final five outs. He did both. The 25-year-old will likely be a high-leverage option for Colorado, but even if the Rockies somehow end up winning more games than anticipated, it’s hard to picture too many more save opportunities.

Victor Vodnik struck out three while allowing two hits in a scoreless inning to get a save versus the Phillies on Sunday.
Vodnik put the tying run at the plate, but the 26-year-old was able to strike out Brandon Marsh and Rafael Marchán to procure the save. The 26-year-old has his first save of 2026 with a 4.50 ERA.

Victor Vodnik allowed two runs in an inning of work while blowing a save against the Marlins on Sunday.
Vodnik allowed a two-run homer to Owen Caissie with two outs to blow his first save chance of the season. The right-hander was throwing hard with several fastballs ticking above 100 mph, but he left a pitch in the wrong spot to Caissie to prevent the four-out save. Vodnik still should get most of the limited chances that the Rockies will provide.

Victor Vodnik was clobbered during Saturday’s Cactus League outing against the Brewers, giving up four runs on three hits in just 2/3 of an inning.
Ouch. Vodnik also issued a pair of walks while recording both of his outs via the strikeout. Vodnik took over in the second inning of this one and walked two of the first three hitters he faced before serving up a three-run homer to light-hitting infielder David Hamilton. He also allowed another couple of singles before turning the ball over to the bullpen and one of those inherited runners ultimately scored. The presumed closer to open the season for the Rockies, Vodnik has struggled to a 27.00 ERA and 4.88 WHIP over 2 2/3 innings in three Cactus League outings this spring. Perhaps Rockies’ skipper Warren Schaeffer may want to go in a different direction in the ninth inning.
