Phillies signed RHP Wil Crowe to a minor league contract.
Crowe returns stateside after spending last year pitching in Korea for the Kia Tigers. The 30-year-old righty augments Philadelphia’s organizational pitching depth. He went from back-end starting pitcher to effective high-leverage specialist for the Pirates, making 91 appearances (26 starts) from 2021-2023.

Wil Crowe has signed a one-year, $600,000 contract with the Kia Tigers of the Korea Baseball Organization.
The deal also includes a $200,000 signing bonus and up to $200,000 in additional performance-based incentives. The 29-year-old righty was an effective high-leverage reliever for the Pirates prior to last year’s injury-marred campaign where he made just five appearances before landing on the injured list for good with right shoulder discomfort. He’ll aim to rebuild his long-term value overseas in Korea.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #29
    Pirates released RHP Wil Crowe.
Crowe made just five relief appearances this past season for the Pirates before landing on the injured list with right shoulder discomfort, which wound up ending his season. The 29-year-old righty has been an effective high-leverage option the last few years, so there’s a chance he’ll latch on somewhere this offseason as extra organizational depth.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #29
Pirates sent RHP Wil Crowe outright to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Crowe had been designated for assignment last week, but he passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as excess bullpen depth at the Triple-A level. He’s in the final stages of recovery from right shoulder discomfort that has shelved him for the past two months.

Pirates designated RHP Wil Crowe for assignment.
Crowe is in the final stages of a minor league rehab assignment and after missing two months due to right shoulder discomfort. The 28-year-old righty reliever has excelled in a high-leverage role the last few years and should attract plenty of interest on waivers in the coming days.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #29
Pirates sent RHP Wil Crowe on a minor league rehab assignment at Low-A Bradenton
Crowe has been on the shelf since late April with right shoulder discomfort. With the assignment to Low-A, the Pirates are going to take it slow with the 28-year-old. He should return sometime after the All-Star break.

Wil Crowe (shoulder) received a PRP injection two weeks ago.
Crowe landed on the 60-day injured list back in late April due to right shoulder discomfort and will be shut down from throwing until nearly June. He’s facing an extended absence and might not be an option for the Pirates until sometime after the All-Star break.

Pirates transferred RHP Wil Crowe from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
The procedural move opens up a spot on the Pirates’ 40-man roster for Miguel Andújar and will keep Crowe sidelined until sometime in late June. The 28-year-old reliever landed on the injured list earlier this week with right shoulder discomfort and will miss at least the next two months.

  • PHI Relief Pitcher #29
Pirates placed RHP Wil Crowe on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to April 23, with right shoulder discomfort.
It doesn’t sound like Crowe is facing a lengthy absence, but there should be an official update on his status in the next few days. He’s pitched in a setup role this season for the unexpectedly surging Pirates.

Wil Crowe was credited with a three-inning save after allowing two runs Friday against the White Sox.
Crowe started the seventh with a 12-7 lead today and finished out the game at 13-9. Crowe was the No. 2 man in the Pirates pen for much of last year and got four saves while helping to fill in for an injured David Bednar. However, he showed up with diminished stuff this spring after suffering an elbow injury at the very end of 2022. His velocity is back now, but he’ll need to earn a setup role again.
